    Cold Water Shave
Being as the WTG-XTG-ATG method worked each day that I shaved, I will use it again . I started this shave, and decided to change blades. I had not one Nick or Weeper! But while I was changing the blade in my Above the Tie R-1, I cut the corner of my left index finger, at the very corner of the finger nail. :angry017: :angry019:  Other wise this was a perfect BBS Shave. This was definitely a DFS and a BBS Shave. This shave tonight was " A Rudy Castiel Clean Used Car"...aka "A Rudy Castiel Clean Shave"!

I will say this, I like my ATT R-1, but I really do prefer using my Weber 3pc. 85-mm W/Classic Handle. I want to get a longer handle, I see that Above the Tie makes a handle that is 105-mm in size, I was thinking about getting one, but they are rather expensive. So I will be ready to go for Physical Therapy tomorrow.

    Tuesday Morning Shave
    Razor:
    Gillette Super Speed
    Blade: Perma-Sharp (3)
    Brush: Vie-Long White Horse Hair
    Soap: Proraso
    AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush

No nicks or irritation this time but perma-sharp is not a comfy blade I used it carefully.

I used my Gillette New in a different way today. Usually, I use three passes and feel a bit tender. Today I went WTG and very gently ATG on my cheeks for a very smooth and comfortable finish. On my neck I did WTG - XTG and a little touch up. My face feels great! It's not as close as I usually like on my neck, but there is no irritating feel, either. Tabac likely helped make this happen with its near optimal performance and classic scent. I topped it off with a little Synergy FrostByte lotion for the cooling effect.

As if yesterday's set-up wasn't frigid enough, today's was even more frigid. Like I've said in the past - these Glacial soaps are not for anyone who cannot tolerate intense menthol because they are so bone-chilling cold that the sensation feels almost painful. I absolutely LOVE the Obsidian's strong black licorice scent, and I have no trouble at all getting rich, stable lather from it. A little extra water is really all that's needed. The Anherb conditioner provided plenty of extra cooling, and the Glacial Wintergreen witch hazel is definitely colder than the Rubby Dubby Doo. What a wonderful shave this was! ;) :D

    Prep: Hot shower
    Lather: Old Spice Cream
    Brush: Vie-Long 13061M
    Razor: Gillette New SC
    Blade: Voskhod (5)

I've not used the Ogallala before. Quite a burn there. Don't mind the scent though.

I've been getting a bit of irritation on my neck over the past week or so. The only consistent change has been the change from a horsehair brush to a boar bristle. I put the Omega boar away and got out the Vie-Long horse and before I put on the aftershave, I did not sense any irritation on my neck. Maybe I am a pigist?

2 passes. Retired the Voskhod after today's shave.

    Gem Jr. razor (Baton handle)
    Treet blade
    Lea Sensitive SC
    Whipped Dog Silvertip brush
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel/Sage mix
    Pinaud Clubman A/S

Getting the hang of the Gem Jr. As I've said before, it's very mild and I have to do an extra pass to get a good shave. But the results are good and I'm ready to go. Think this blade has one more shave in it and then I'm back to my injectors.

Close shave, but maybe a little too close. I'm feeling a bit of tenderness, but it's nothing that won't heal before tomorrow morning.

Another almost BBS 2 pass shave today. The Proraso Red face lathered to a yogurt like consistency and let me get real close this morning. The Duck and the Shake Sharp had no trouble doing their jobs. The Leather Oud will keep me smelling great all day. Thanks Moz68!

    Prep: Nutregena face cleanser
    Oil: Shave Secret
Brush: 20mm Whipped dog set deep
    Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery
Razor: Gillette new open comb (long)
    Blade: Ladas
    soap: Catie's Bubbles Spanish Holiday
    Witch Hazel: Generic unscented

This morning I came to the conclusion that I should not have bought all of those soap samples when I was brand new to wet shaving. I used Catie's bubbles today and was impressed with the lather. It was nice, thick and slick.. When I was first starting, I tried samples of Catie's bubbles and was not impressed. The same thing happened a few weeks ago when I pulled out a sample of LASS. The only difference, as far as I can tell, is that my technique has improved enough to allow me to properly lather a soap. I may need to go back over all of the samples I dismissed in order to double check whether it is the soap or me.

BTW - I know it is me and not the soaps. :)
