"GREAT" collection Roderick! However I believe the ER1912 SE would be considered a closed comb if not a solid bar.:)

ER 1912 is a closed comb. Open Comb means open gaps between the teeth.

While the comb is closed, the open part is the part gliding on your face while shaving. JMHO.

That is true. And it is the case for some others such as the ER 1924. The closed comb part never touches the face. My guess is that the solid bar was added for durability reasons- so the individual teeth would not get bent out of shape. But it does effectively act as an open comb in practice.

This is off topic but if September was for SEs, October is for Open combs, and November is No Shave November what is December? DEcember as in DEs only?

Maybe November should be "NEWvember". Only New razors, say nothing older than the year 2000.

Wouldn't NEWvember be for Gillette NEWs? If so, looks like i'll be using mine for two straight months.

NEWvember! I like it. For OCtober, I guess it'll be other OCs. ATT H2 will be what I start with on the 2nd since I will probably have to shave with a cart tomorrow (unless I skip the shave, which I might).
