    But still it is a closed comb. Now given what you are bringing out into the discussion it would fit closer to the Hybrid Combs in performance (i.e. R41., Barbasols) than a true Closed Comb.

    The MicroMatic Open Comb is an SE that is a true Open Comb...

    AUgust = Gold Plated Razors (Gold is a chemical element with symbol Au and atomic number 79. )
    SEptember = SE Razor
    OCtober = Open Comb Razor
    NOvember = No Change Month
    DEcember = DE Razor

    Very Nice Razor, sure wish I had a nice box with mine. The Cooper Is a great razor especially with a couple days growth. The OC is nice but not too aggressive. Great find.

    Gillette Old Types are easily my favourite DE razors (of any ilk comb-wise), and the New Improved and NEW DeLuxe razors are definitely worthy of an honourable mention in my book.

    No Variation NOVember is cute enough but I should think that one would also want to use just the one blade all month as well. Maybe even just one soap, brush, AS, etc. etc. ... ;)

    I'm up for that. I was going to try it anyway with a couple of stipulations.
    • Same razor. I was going to give one of my milder razors like my DE89 a full month now that my technique is hopefully better.
    • Same brand and type of blade, not same exact blade. I just bought 100 Astras, so i should be good there.
    • If i run out of soap, i get to move to the next puck in line, not go out and buy another puck of the same type. I'll at least try to stick with same brand though. I have 3 conk pucks left.
    • Same rules for PSO as soap.
    Sound fair?

    Since no real hard rules have been established yet (other than the same razor) for 'No Mese Variazione' (No Variation month), I figure participants have some leeway.
    I plan on ONE razor, maybe 4 soaps (1 a week), 1 brush…..

    I also have a lather catcher and a couple of Valets. I have never shaved with these razors yet.

    I'm always amazed that my oldest razor gives me some of my best shaves.
    today I used my 1906 Gillette New Standard.
