Yeah, tried all those things. Went very slowly and carefully, made sure the blade was properly installed and seated correctly, and had plenty of time for pre-shave to soften things and some of the best lather I've been able to generate. Still undoubtedly the worst shave I've ever had, even counting the times I made errors, or even the time I tried using an SE with a bent blade stop.

I've tried the Ever-Ready 1912 too, without much better results. I am still waiting on some injectors to slip into one of the four Schicks (E's and G's) I have to see if that is better. But so far, I'm sensing that SE razors may not be for me. At least someone will benefit from a PIF or two when the time comes. One of the two OCMM'a are almost certainly going in the Nationwide Tour Box when it arrives here.

All seemed in order for a glorious and fulfilling respite from the vagaries of stubble.

Upon the first stroke of the so-called blade, however, our intrepid adventurer felt something was amiss. Perhaps he had forgotten a step in his time-honored ritual, or perhaps the edge was not properly and securely affixed? He took stock of himself in the looking-glass and noted rivulets of crimson beginning to course down his visage.

Angrily he spoke aloud, "Thou vilest instrument of torment, thou Summoner of Styptic! What hast thou wrought? Away and begone, foul bringer of blood, unholiest of implements!"

Many hours later -- or perhaps it was mere moments, who can say? -- once the bloodletting had been staunched, the neighbors appeased and the local constabulary properly bribed and sent upon their way, our intrepid adventurer laid the tool of his self-inflicted torture to rest and returned once more to a reliable and pleasurable double-edged experience like those of his forefathers. He vowed then to unburden himself as soon as practical of the singular-bladed tools of despair yet remaining in his cabinet of alchemical and mechanical oddities, though it might well alienate him from those who relished and coveted such weaponry. Or perhaps passing them along to others more worthy would serve to endear him to those self-same compatriots. Same set-up as yesterday, except I added the Balm before the first and third passes. No nicks or weepers, no burn, and another decent shave. (Decent for me is shy of DFS, but acceptable for daily use.)

Of course, I am talking about the not shaving part.

I am embarking on the 30day-Rule as of today...October is about technique and routine. I look forward to switching it all up again in November... Thanks to @GDCarrington for the suggestion.

Proud to announce today's shave is in prep for a flight to WI, Lambeau Awaits! Checking off a bucket list item of Green Bay home game with Mrs. Samurai...Hope everyone has a good week, and will be back on the board friday.

The TOBS Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Semogue 1305 Boar Brush. Two passes with my Gillette NEW SC and Shark Super Chrome blade gave me a most excellent, OC close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
