Here are my mega-frigid shaving plans for tomorrow.

    Menthol Monday:

Gatsby Ice Cooling Gel Facial Wash :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Large Horsehair Barbershop
    Super Speed/new Sharp
Stirling Glacial Wintergreen SS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Stirling Glacial Wintergreen WH :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui EdT

When you use this kind of set-up it almost feels like you need to wear a fur coat because that's how cold it is. The Gatsby facial wash is so mentholated that it's stronger than some soaps and creams which I have. The Glacial Wintergreen soap can make your eyes tear as well as freeze your face off, and its scent is great. The lather is easy to work with if you add a little extra water. The matching witch hazel is the absolute Mother of All Face-Freezing Aftershaves - it's wonderful, and I love it. ;) :D

    Dove Men's Face Wash
    TOBS Lavender Shaving Cream
    Semogue 1305 Boar Brush
    Gillette English NEW LC
    Shark Super Chrome (6)
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue

The TOBS Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Semogue 1305 Boar Brush. Two passes with my Gillette English NEW LC and Shark Super Chrome blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Menthol Monday: Cold Comfort
This was one of the most comfortable shaves I've had. This razor is smooth! I think I get a closer shave with my New LC, but the Vorschlaghammer is much smoother. This could be the answer to sensitive neck issues for me. Krampert's Frostbite is the perfect companion to Synergy FrostByte. Both are very cold and very good at caring for my skin. I kicked it up a notch with Proraso Green Crema Pre Barba, which got this shave off to a chilly good start.

today's shave was cold. menthol Monday. three passes and touch up, smooth and cool. stick with the long comb bar, mostly because I've been getting really close shaves, with no irritation. ain't broke don't fix it, right. finished with Osage for a cold face.
Hope y'all do as well, or better. 20141006_062009-1.jpg

    Menthol Monday

    Prep: hot shower
    Razor: WW2 Gillette Tech
    Blade: BIC platinum (day 4)
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: Proraso Green w/TSD M-Bomb
    Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG)
    Post: Arko Ice Mint

    Wow!

I'm a fan of Proraso, and have been ever since I first tried it. Proraso Green has never fully lived up to its potential for me though. So today I gave it a bit of help in the form of TSD M-Bomb. Two drops on the puck and another one or two in my bowl.

    I FOUND THE MENTHOL!!!!!

With yesterday's BBS, I was hoping today might be a repeat, what with starting out very smooth. I can honestly say my face is too numb to tell right now....

    Monday:
hot shower w/Yardley Vanilla & Sweet Orchid bar soap
    Homemade PSO
    Schick Krona 2 passes
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Permasharp Stainless (4)
    Long Handled boar
    TSD Violet soap
    Thayers Lavender w/aloe
    GFT Lavender Water AS (sample)

Think it's time to retire this blade. Last time I used it I noticed it started to get hot on my third pass (using my Slim) and today it just seemed to be scraping rather than cutting. Fortunately it was a great smelling shower and shave.

    MONDAY
    First Go with a Straight!

After nearly a week post-surgery, I decided to give a straight-razor shave a try this morning. Even though the palm of my left hand resembles Joseph's coat of many colors (mostly purple), it really only hurts like blazes if I try to squeeze something (or use scissors, pliers, etc). Holding a straight razor in that hand sees to create little discomfort, and I've drawn enough blood with my right-handed DE attempts that I figured today is the day to get back in the SR saddle! So this morning's shave went uneventfully…3 passes using both my left & right hands; no blood and ultra-smooth results! Love the Beau Brummel blade!

    Have a great Monday, all!
