went to a local flea market Sunday morning where I previously had luck. I was their very early and some people were just putting stuff out. I was walking past a guy who just put a few things on his table. I saw this gem and checked it over. mechanically it worked perfect however it was all scummed up. I asked how much and the guy said 2 bucks. I couldn't get my money out fast enough. I thought it was just a 40s style super speed but after research at the house I found out it was the elusive 1941 Ranger Tech. I could not believe it. 2 bucks!!! I cleaned her all up and could not be happier. Still have a smile on my face.
Thanks!!! I think it's better when they're coated in soap scum because I think it preserves the finish. the ones that were coated in soap scum cleaned up the best with no plating loss. and they were probably coated for years and years and that helped protect the finish. scrubbing bubbles does wonders also.
Nice score buddy, I am impressed with that transformation job. Nothing better than a vintage find in the wild...let us know how it shaves.
patience and continuous looking. yes it had a blade in it. it was a gillette blade. was probably put away 50 years ago and never used again
Awesome. I love it when you find one that looks gnarly and then see it come out the other side shiny and like-new.
