I hope poor Leif gets better soon, and it can't be nice for you seeing him like that. Hopefully he will make a speedy recovery.

Sleep deprived. Only slept 4 hours in two days, so please forgive any typos.

    Get some rest, Joe! :sleep025:

My post-op meds have certainly been a blessing in allowing me to catch some Zzzzzz.
Although the major discomfort time has past this past week, now I just get sharp little reminders NOT to grab anything with my left hand.
You'd think I'd learn this by now—but some of us are more stubborn (dense?)…:D

Ain't it purdy? Waiting for a whiter shade of purple….

Been awhile since I've dropped in, just can't seem to make the time lately.
Busy, busy, busy, busy, busy, busy....
that's how my day week month whatever has been. Work (long hours lately...but not complaining about the OT), daughter in band, practices, contests, football games; son's soccer games (which I'll miss all of October due to aforementioned band contests), cooking, cleaning, helping wife study and trying to keep her sane and grounded, church, etc. Wearing. Me. Out. But, as always, His grace is sufficient and each day the strength to handle it all comes.

No way I'll remember everything to catch up on, so I'll just say, the band kicked some major tail on Saturday. All 1's, most outstanding drumline and best overall band. Another contest this Saturday, then on Tuesday UIL competition, then on to area marching contest in a couple of weeks *should* we make it (be hard not to, really good show this year), and as long as the kiddos stay focused, on to San Antonio for the state marching contest (with a couple of other invitational contests in between). Which isn't a bad thing...as long as Bama keeps playing like they have been, I'm sure I won't miss seeing the games this month - at least one more loss coming in October, possibly two (to note: I said after the West Virginia game this year we'd probably drop 3-4 games this year).

Wife is doing awesome in nursing school, high A's so far, doing really well.

My wife is on a health food kick. I have a nice dinner of home made spaghetti (read: Buckwheat noodles with tomatos.) and a parmesan cheese subsitute (That contains some manner of soy product). A billion Italian souls just cried out in agony and were suddenly silenced with my first bite.

    This...is why I drink. LOL.

More good news! (Can't believe I forgot to add this to my last post)

The other day I learned that my wife used to play a mean Alto Sax. I knew she played one...but I didn't know how good she was at it. So today we went out and I got one for her. We are only renting a used one, for cost reasons, but she is really excited. She plays the piano very well (gr. 10) but we couldn't bring our piano in the move. :( So it is nice for her to have something to play music with.

At first she didn't want to get it when we were at the store, but once I filled out the credit app, and she looked for books...she got really excited. When we got home she locked herself away for an hour or so in our spare room...just playing away!

Its nice to have music in the house again!!

    Oh, God, blech!

And whole wheat pasta (I don't know about buckwheat) is nutritionally no different than regular pasta in most cases.

A banjo player and a saxaphonist... you don't really like your neighbors do you?! :D

I can't see why, it's $5000 of quality craftsmanship played by Yusuf Islam and Eric Clapton. NO DOWNSIDE IN MY EYES!
