Thank you, no cracks everything seems sound. doesn't take many turns to release the cap it arrived pretty dingy, cleaned up nice. I'll try it tomorrow already loaded a new lab.
Its……It's……..It's a BIG GREEN STONE! All the way from Japan, via the UK, to California… Naniwa Chosera 1k…a reputable bevel-cutter that I'm looking forward to trying out…errr…..once I'm able to hone again…..
Truthfully…maybe 3 to 4. One to set a bevel edge, one to sharpen, one to finish/polish. There are vids depicting 'one-stone' honing, which in reality is two (bevel-setter & one stone to do the rest). I use: bevel-setter (1k), sharpening (4k & 8k), finisher (10-12k). Others use more (additional finishers or have a series: 1k, 3k, 5k, 10k, 12k)
It sounds like a fun process to learn. Im just curious because I wanted to buy a stone for sharpening knives and I only want one. But it seems like all videos are talking at least 4 different grits
Knives you could get by with one. My uncle had ONE old stone he used for all his knives. It has two different grits (coarse & medium- 100 to 300 grit) With razors, the grits will be in the 1000 up to 30k range.
I bought Pino Silvestre's Hydro After Shave from a cosmetics store for $7.30 (16.60TL). It's made in Italy and it's in a glass bottle which I liked a lot. I'll use it tomorrow morning after the shave.
I have the green bottle. Great stuff. Don't know how the blue one smells but the green one is a fresh, woodsy scent. Please give us Info. Greetings Thorsten
The blue bottle has a fresh scent, too but it has water elements like water minerals in it. It's like I'm in an ocean in a sunny and calm day. I smelled the green bottle it's great, too but prefered the blue one because of its price advantage. I'm not good at describing scents but I can make more comments when I use it.
@Recklesstr : Your description sounds very nice too...seems i have to buy the blue bottle too. @Billy Goatee : Happy Birthday!!! All the best wishes to you. Have a great time. arty::wave:arty:
I just ordered the Pumpkin Harvest Lanolin on your recommendation (along with a bunch of other stuff... ) Thanks for the suggestion! Kevin
Kevin, it's wonderful! Please let me know what you think. Is this your first order from TSD shop? Kerry
Yes, Kerry, it is. The first of many, I hope. I want to support TSD as much as I can. I love the camaraderie here! BTW, my son's name is Kerry...
