    Prep: hot shower
    Razor: WW2 Gillette Tech
    Blade: Treet Platinum (day 2)
    Brush: Vie-Long
    Soap: Proraso Red
    Passes: 2 (WTG, XTG)
    Post: Proraso Blue AS balm

Back to the shave soap samples this morning, today was Proraso Sandalwood. I wasn't sure what to expect from this soap, but something did seem to be missing. Building up a lather was no more challenging then any other Proraso soap, but this was a touch on the airy side. I'm not sure about the scent of the Proraso Sandalwood if fact I'm having a hard time deciding if there is a scent...

The performance of this soap is top-notch. The gilded and protection of the Sandalwood is easily on par with the rest of the Proraso products, if not better. A very satisfying two pass DFS.

I am with you in the SE hater's club. I got my injector blades on Monday and put one in right away for a quick test drive on the sideburns. Couldn't figure out the angle, either... Neither seemed to be very face-friendly, so I'm certainly not going to let it near my scalp. Probably going to sell off or PIF the injectors and SE's I have.

    Prep: glycerin soap
Brush: 20mm Whipped dog set deep
    Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery
Razors: Slim Adjustable set to 7
    Blade: Ladas
    soap: My French Soap Mix
    Witch Hazel: Generic unscented

I have been using LADAS blades lately and continue to be impressed. First, they cut my whiskers efficiently. Second, they seem to produce absolutely no irritation on my face. My face feels as if the worst thing I did to it was to run the dull side of a table knife across lightly. At first I thought it was the combination of soap, blade and razor, but, for me, this blade performs magnificently in any razor with any soap.

3 passes for BBS with truly 0% irritation.

Prep: Hot shower. Neutrogena face wash. Noxzema.

    Brush: Omega 266.

    Lather: Arko.

    Razor: Gillette 1940's Super Speed.

    Blade: Voskhod!

    Post: Cold water; Witch Hazel.

    After: Brut Splash-on.

Went back for seconds this week, to the 1940's Super Speed. It was such a great shave on Monday that I wanted to give it another go, this time with a Voskhod.

Two-pass BBS, no blood that I could see, even on the back of my head where the terrain is evidently built for off-roading. Decided to forgo the alum block, since it felt so bloodless. Which made the witch hazel and the Brut sting a bit more but in a good way.

This razor has quickly become one of my favorites -- I think I like it even better than my birth quarter Slim, my Aristocrat, or my Fatboys -- and the Voskhod blade seemed to be everything I had hoped it would be.

SOTD - OCtober has become Slantober

    Pre - CWS

    Soap - Proraso white

    Brush - WD Silvertip

    Razor - RR Kiyara Slant

    Blade - Rapira PL

This razor is impressive. 2 pass DFS. No blood. No irritation. This is pretty impressive, considering that I've never used a slant before. Full review to follow. Just want to get a couple of shaves under my belt. This razor may supplant my Parker 91r as my daily driver :)

Did another oil only shave this morning. I really like shaving this way as an alternative to lather. I love lather so I wont be switching over to oil, but I do like shaving with it....

    10/8/2014 Open Comb October

Prep: Hot shower with Nivea Face Wash with menthol
Razor: Gem Micro Matic OC, Dubl Duck Goldedge straight razor
Blade: GEM PTFE coated SE blade (5)
    Brush: Turkish #6
    Soap: Cella
After: Home made ASB, Spieck after shave
    Cologne: Une Fleur De Cassie

It was a quick 2 pass Darn Fine Shave + this morning. I skipped the PSO with no ill effect. The #6 face lathered the Cella quickly which provided good protection and slide. The MMOC and the Dubl Duck had no problems mowing down the stubble. The Une Fleur De Cassie will have me smelling good for the rest of the day.

    Have a blessed day!

    Razor: Gillette gold toggle (D1) 1958 (5)
    Brush: Erskine Badger 1947
Mug: Old Spice (early glass Mug 06) 1961 - 1964 First Mug with a taper last without a lip on top
Cream: Castle Forbes Cedarwood & Sandalwood
    Blade: Feather (1)
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black cooling gel, Halston Z-14 cologne
    image.jpg
I broke out the 1958 toggle, for a nice relaxing shave, along with The Castle Forbes which is my favorite cream. The Erskine Badger is a great soft brush and whipped up copious amounts of lather. I dropped in a fresh Feather, and flicked the toggle,to close the doors. I checked the alignment and was good to go for my first pass WTG. So far so good, no pressure just let the heavy razor do the work. A little rinse to see how we are doing and relather for a XTG pass on my face and ATG on my neck. Some more lather for touch up on my neck and we are done. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some Jack Black AS gel, then some Halston Z-14 cologne and we are done. This was a DFS. This is a great razor and I feel privileged to have acquired it. Have a good one!

Lots og blood, but not on my face. To open the pils, you put your thumb on the end of the head and spin it. Very easy. Unless you forget you left a blade in there and end up slicing your thumb. There was blood everywhere. It took a while for the bleeding to stop. Shaving was awkward as my thumb was still so sore I couldn't really use it. Oh well.
    But
My new whipped dog silvertip brush showed up. I love it, as it is so soft. Way better than my Simpsons brush.
