Its no shaving goody...but I finally picked up a banjo. Not the one I wanted...but you have to go with what you can get. Its a Gold Tone Cripple Creek 100+ open back. I've been playing it since I got it home .
Thanks Mike. It has great sound! I showed my wife it last night and she pointed out that I had a pair of socks shoved between the truss rod (in the back) and the head, and asked why. I strummed the strings to show how loud it was then I removed the socks and strummed again (about 10 times louder because the vibrations aren't being stopped). She just lagged and said that it made sense to have the socks shoved in the back.
Two new brushes this month. First a Plisson #12 High Mountain White with a horn handle. Second a German brush with a pieced Cows horn handle. Both brushes are very nice to shave with. The Plisson may become my favorite brush.
My haul: Kriss Kross Stropper Page Stropper Ever-Ready 150 Ever-Ready 200 Gillette Old Type 2 Gillette Slims 1920 Pocket Edition
The page stropper is for single edge razors. On the reverse side is a tab that you pull. It is kinda neat. For $0.50, I couldn't pass it up
Excellent! Dunno if you're into SE shaving, but if not, this could be an extra reason to start - though I'd only use it on carbon blades. Otherwise it is something neat to have and to just hang on the wall!
Well everything eBay arrived this afternoon. I won a lot that included a New Standard. A silver plated New Standard also arrived from Romania of all places. A card of Injector blades. A tiny samples order from Maggard too. And the piece de resistance...a slant head graciously PIFed from a TSD member. All in all, it's a great day tater.
This finally arrived... My 1941 Ranger Tech. As well as a puck of MWF from a TSD trade. Curse you, NO-Variation NOVember.
And this arrived today... A 1930 NEW Oxford Long Comb set in box. With NO cracks in the handle, hairline or otherwise!
Just in. I made a trade and got this lovely Schick Krona with two packs of Astra Superior Stainless DE blades.
