    Wool Fat Wednesday...

I had to knock the dust off this old faithful soap and show it some lathering love. I'm sure glad I did, because there is no doubt that "the Fat" is a top performer. Yet another smooth shave with the Shavecraft 102, no complaints from this guy. Have a good one gents.

I may have asked this before, I apologize if I have. How do you like the Jack Black shave cream? Good lather cushion, scent? I have the Jack Black post shave balm and I really like it. I was a little disappoint when I got it as it not a lot of product for the price, but it is my go to post shave balm and a little goes a long way.

I use a very light touch with my FB and a Feather blade. With that technique the blade, being notorious for being sharp, lasts me just 2 shaves. I do have a light beard which helps. I get into trouble when I use a light razor like a Tech and use too much pressure.

Awful shave tonight. Started out trying cold water shave and didn't like it, and that set the tone for the rest of the shave. Switched to hot water but couldn't redeem the shave. Horrible irritation and weepers on neck. No idea what went wrong, is same exact setup for last 5 days.

Gonna have to not shave tomorrow.

Remember, remember, the shave of November (5th) aka The Omega Man

    Pre: Shower
    Croap: Omega Crema Barba
    Razor: Merkur OC
    Blade: Shark (Shave #7!)
    Brush: Omega 10049
    Post: No post!

I really do not like Omega croap. I wait a few months try it again, and it still is horrible as far as I'm concerned. The first Italian shaving product that I haven't liked, I think. I was going to put it in the travelling box, but someone had already snuck theirs into it. Amazingly, I'm on shave #7 with the same Shark and haven't been bit once.

It's alright. I received it last month as an anniversary gift from my wife. Easy and thick lather, adequate cushion, it actually performs quite well. Where it falls short is in the scent. What little scent it has is a bit medicinal. Eucalyptus maybe. It's a big, 8 oz jar costing roughly $20-25 so it's not a bad deal, but frankly I have creams and soaps that perform equally well yet cost far less and have more interesting scents. For the price, I'd opt for two tubes of LaToja over the Jack Black any day, and have a couple of bucks left over for a cold beer.

    THURSDAY
    Evening Shave for Tomorrow
A lovely 3-pass evening shave with the Big Imp. Luxurious MdC lather whipped up with the Omega.
Had I thought enough in advance, I probably would've used the Becker scuttle to really make the shave decadent! Still an A+ shave….

    Have a great Thursday all!

Still hanging on for NO-Variation NOVember.

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415255466.546400.jpg

Learning a lot about my technique by sticking with one razor, one blade, one soap, one brush, and one aftershave. For starters:

    1. I'm learning with the Merkur, it's a mild enough shaver that I can trust my technique and shave mostly without a mirror.
    2. I've learned the Merkur has good audible feedback. Not as apparent as the audible feedback I get with the Maggard or even a Tech, but enough so that I can tell when I have the blade angle right.
    3. I've learned that sticking to just one razor for this long is hard! I am dying to try my Ranger Tech, or my NEW, or even my Maggard. But so far I'm resisting the temptation.

Yes it's the new more colourful packaging from Wickham just released this week.
I have the Spice Trade shown here and the Imperial Tonic. Darron also sent a sample of the Southsea Spray. The scent strengths are decent to my nose.
The Spice Trade is a very good match for the Old Spice.
Thank you for your kind words on the brush :)
