Welcome! I'm new as well and have benefited greatly from the resources in this forum. Good luck! (and if you're still undecided about your soap choice for the 30 days: I've been very happy with Arko! super SUPER easy to lather (I am one who really likes the scent but not all do)

    Thanks everyone!
I'll get a sampler then. Any suggestions on the "must try" blades that I should include other than Astra, Feather, Reds, Derby?
I was unsure if I'd like the smell (reviews seemed love/hate) so I got both Arko and Proraso. Want to try others, but I'll hold on until I have my technique down :)

Big Bens. A smoother less sharp blade. May not work out for you long term but it is the blade I use when testing out new razors because of the properties of the blade. Still though one of my favorite blades.

Welcome aboard. Ask us anything. We know the answer to all questions related to shaving except one. The one question we don't have an answer to is "How do I stop buying stuff?" :)

If you keep hanging around here, you will stop using either carts or electrics forever...:) Getting smooth, close and most important irritation free shaves through "traditional" shaving can be very addicting..:happy088: Also honestly even if you decide you want to continue with cart shaving, using "traditional" preshave technique's will give you a MUCH better shave!
