    Gillette Super Speed '47
    Astra SP
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

The C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Omega Pro 98 Boar Brush. Two passes with my '47 Gillette Super Speed and Astra SP blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

youngunn Where's my TSD aftershave balm???

That mug is perfect for hot lather, deep and heavy to sit in hot sink unlike a bowl that wants the float. Can't wait to use mine too

The point I was making, is that if you are getting a bad shave change something. And the cheapest thing to change is the blade. I go 2 shaves max with a blade, but that is just me.

    Saturday Morning Shave
    Razor:
    Gillette Black Beauty (S4)
    Blade: Feather Hi-Stainless (1)
    Brush: Isana Men Pure Badger
    Soap: Arko
    Balm: Yves Rocher

First time using a feather blade and I prepared well before starting shaving as I usually do. I had a two pass shave this morning. When I finished the second pass, I was suprised how it was easy to shave with a feather blade and the smooth feeling on my face but when I started drying my face with a paper towel I saw lots of tiny spots of blood. The blade irritated my skin without giving any feedback. I liked the way it cuts but I must be careful next time. The warnings were correct. This feather belongs to a wild beast and it can bite..
    Have a great weekend!

    Fantastic shave tonight.

    Prep: Ology Peppermint castille soap
Razor: GEM Junior Parade Fat Handle
    Blade: GEM Personna PTFE
    Soap: Tabac
    Brush: Rubberset 400-4 Silvertip
Shave: WTG - XTG - RXTG - ATG
Post: Thayer's Rose Witch Hazel, Dirty English balm

FIRST SHAVE with the little fat guy, the Parade Fat Handle, and it. Was. Great.

I was having a flare-up day in my hands from autoimmune arthritis, so the fat handled razor did exactly what I bought it to do- be easy to hold and shave with when my hands hurt.

It felt like I was holding a feather the size of a fat permanent marker. No pressure applied at all, the weight of the head doing all the work. Smooth blades. First time with the PTFE coated Personnas.

After the carnage I wreaked upon my neck 2 nights ago, this was an almost luxurious experience. The razor gathered the lather of the Tabac and provided wonderful cushion. So happy...

    Cheers gentlemen

Yes feathers give a very close shave... Like another layer of skin closer.

Thank you for your kind words, It's a change of pace from the Old Type I used the day before, the Executive on 5 it's quite mild up to 6 for the next shave ;)

I'm really glad the fat handle did the trick for ya! Hope it will be a long time before you have to experience another arthritis flare-up day! When I see another razor with a fat handle I'll be thinking of you!

This shave was so much better than yesterday's!First pass I dialed it to it's smoothest, second pass halfway and third pass with the most exposure. That was a bit much, so in the future I'll keep it halfway at most. But all in all it was a really enjoyable shave! very close.

Have a great weekend ya'll! Make it count!

Absolutely! Even an expensive blade is still pretty cheap. Voskhod blades last a long time for me on my Weber and are smooth. They aren't as smooth in my Gillette New but that may be technique. Hmmm, perhaps I should try some for a week or two in the New...

Success finally with this Micro-Touch - there's a way to get a perfect shave with it and it's so simple. All that's needed is to keep the razor VERY slightly open and it increases the blade exposure enough to give the desired cutting results. The Dorco blades are another matter which I have no control over, because I'm not crazy about 'em. That's how I got BBS with almost no effort. The Glacial Lemon Chill soap provided its slick, rich lather and bone-chilling menthol power as well as its brilliant skincare. As always, the Gold Bond moisturizer froze my face even more, and that Rubby Dubby Doo made it feel 25 below zero. ;) :D

The Micro-Touch razor I bought came with 2 packs of Dorcos. Once I finish them, I'll never buy them again.

    Saturn's Day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Beeline Boar
    Cream: Speick
    Razor: FaTip Piccolo OC
    Blade: Bolzano Superinox (2)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (3, 4, 5)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Speick AS splash
    Cologne: Xeryus by Givenchy

I realized part of the appeal for me in the FaTip today during my shower. As I experience it, I wind up using a DE razor, at the angle of an SE, and needing the concentration folks generally say is needed for a straight. Thus, it combines elements of all the typical wetshaving experience, while being more meditative for me than a more forgiving razor; I can't be thinking about what I'm having for breakfast, or how I'm arranging my next paper, and expect good results with the FaTip.

Today, able to take my time both in prep and execution, and with extra care to focus on the task at hand, I got a great BBS shave from my FaTip, aided by the luxurious lather of the Speick. One tiny weeper showed up on my jawline, right about the spot I'm typically ending one shave stroke and starting another, so that's on me and not the razor.

    art of shaving pure badger
BOMBED Nana June's bay rum soap
    Gillette single ring(17)
    voskhod(2)
    ICED virgin island bay rum
today's shave was cool. the lather was just right. the single ring is a delight to use. three passes for a very nice shave. finished with iced bay rum, very cool sensation. I'm gonna ice the next bottle also. I think that experiment went very well.
hope y'all did as well, or better. 20141108_074336-1.jpg

    11/8/14 - Saturday Morning

Prep: Warm wash with Stirling Naked & Smooth bath soap (actually, just a sliver is left)
Lather: IanS Soaps (etsy) lavender - this was the 68th lather on that puck. Looks like at least 4 more left.
    Brush: Vie-Long 13061M horsehair
    Razor: Gillette New SC
    Blade: Voskhod (1)
    Post: Captain's Choice Bay Rum

I wanted to see if my memory was correct about Voskhods not being the best blade in my New SC. The blade is fantastic in my Weber and turned out to be just "okay" in the New. I will give it a week's worth of shaves at least to see what I think.

But, a blade being just "okay" in the New is still head and shoulders above anything I have ever shaved with. Mild yet extremely efficient and just a real pleasure to use. I like to compare any other razor I might use to the New and they always suffer in comparison. Yep, its just that good. If you don't have one, you should get one as soon as you can.

    You're welcome.

    Go Green!
Today MSU faces a big test in the B1G conference. Go Green! Crack the nuts!
I used as many Green and white products as possible today, and I got a superb result. My face feels great. Greenshave soap is an excellent, unheralded product. I didn't really need pre or post shaves, but I used them anyway for today's theme. The eucalyptus scent matches very well with Proraso green.
My Aristocrat was very smooth and comfortable through three passes.

    Prep: Proraso Green pre barba
    Soap: Greenshave eucalyptus
    Brush: HIS
    Razor: Aristocrat
    Blade: Personna lab blue (3)
    AS: Proraso Green Splash
