    Prep: Shave Secret
    Razor: AutoStrop VC4
Blade: GEM Personna PTFE, modified to fit AutoStrop
    Brush: Rubberset 400-4 Silvertip
    Soap: Cella
Shave: 4 passes, WTG, XTG, RXTG, ATG + Cleanup
    Post: Stetson Cooling Moisture splash

Decided to cleanup the little stubble I had left from the stellar shave yesterday, and ended up doing 4 passes.

Took 5 minutes and modified a PTFE blade for the AutoStrop, and had a pretty good shave. I'm spoiled now, comparing the shave to that of the Wilkinson.

Follow-up the shave with some Stetson, first time I used it, and love it, very moisturizing and just a hint of menthol.

    Cheers

P.S. And I have settled on a moustache style, doing a Petit Handlebar.

  7. TUESDAY
Late Posting from an Early Shave

Recap from the early morn shave today; per usual the Goldedge provided a super-smooth feel and, since I've been spouting facial hair on the upper lip and soul-patch for Movember, I've found the über-sharp square point ideal for precise edge-trimming. Overall, a very nice shave with a woodsy, cedar finish from the DR Harris! :happy088:
    Have a blessed Monday, all!

  8. November 11 - Remembrance Day
Today I would like to thank and remember all who have served to ensure that we have the freedoms we so enjoy today. I would especially like to remember my two Uncle's who served. Uncle Rod served in WWII and was laid to rest in Ortona Italy after he was killed in battle on December 23rd 1943 at the age of 22. Uncle Stan served in the Korean conflict and managed to make it home safely. God Bless all who serve today and yesterday.

hot shower w/Grandpa's Orange Essence bar soap
    Maggard Sweet Orange PSO
    Gillette Aristocrat 2+ passes
    Rapira Platinum Lux (2)
    EverReady boar
GFT Lime soap in a warm bowl
    Thayers Lemon
Truefitt & Hill West Indian Limes AS balm

Early shave and a late post. Couple of notes today. Two shaves so far with a Rapira Swedish Supersteel and two shaves with a Rapira Platinum Lux. So far the SS is the better blade for me.

GFT soap. Seems I get much better lather with the Rose than the Lime. Not sure why that would be so I'm curious if others notice the same brand of soap with performance difference between scents.

The C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Omega Pro 98 Boar Brush. Two passes with my '47 Gillette Super Speed and Astra SP blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

  18. That was a 20mm synthetic knot from TGN. When I removed the old knot with my Dremel tool, I had to enlarge the opening several more millimeters to accommodate the rather large glue bump in that knot. Otherwise only the very bottom of the knot would have fit into the handle. I filled the hollow handle with some metal washers and epoxy.
