What's the weirdest thing you've ever seen a brush made out of?

I've been tossing around the idea of using some 1 3/8 (35mm) bamboo. The contrast of the smooth "grain" and the darker nodes is an interesting look.

Okay gents, I'm making a brush out of something pretty odd: a Bari sax mouthpiece! Using an 18mm extra dense Silvertip in it. Don't have the knot yet, but im excited to get started!

Certainly not your everyday shaving brush....and not one of mine either. Looks to be a bit scrubby. :shocked003:

You'd need to use Tiki Bar Soap with that! :)

I'm excited! Raymond Bukaty lives pretty close to me and has agreed to help me make this happen at his work shop!

    Ok, that's pretty awesome.
Great work seeing something through all the way from idea to completion!

Test lathered the Bari brush this afternoon. Despite the size (18mm) this things lathers like a monster!

First image is the size comparison: 26mm Silvertip on the left and 18mm Silvertip on the right.

Second is my attempt at bowl lathering (I've been an exclusive face latherer for nearly a year)

Third is just because (pictured with my 1941 Ranger Tech)

In Borneo museum I saw one made out of bone. Wasn't sure if it was animal or human but left with the impression it was human!
