The Haul: November 2014

It's been a long time since I have purchased anything shaving related. I have plenty of razors, blades, soaps, etc and really don't need anything. Last night I was looking around and noticed that Weber Razors had the Wave handle listed again. Foolishly I sold mine a couple years ago and then they stopped production on them. I ordered a new Polished Head Razor with a Wave Handle. It should be here in the next few days.

 

That Wilkinson razor is awesome! STEAMPUNK!

 

I know its amazing. I just shaved with it and omg... Best shave of my life.

 

Thanks for the tip that the Weber wave handle is back in production. I just grabbed one too before they disappear again. The Weber PH with bulldog handle has become my daily driver, and I can't wait to see how it performs with the wave handle.

I know I feel like I'm at a Art of Shaving store trying the stuff. I just thought it a shame that such cool stuff should be hidden away in drawers and stuff. My wife approved because I had more stuff in the bathroom closet than she did. Lol

The performance will be about the same, but you will have different gripping points. IIRC, the wave is a few grams lighter than the bulldog. I really like the bulldog handles and use them with all my 3 piece shavers. Most of my shaves these days are either a Feather Portable or a PH Weber. Only when I let it woof out and skip shaving for a few days do I use my OC razors.

Holiday soaps.

 

Day off, daughter and I were scrounging around a warehouse FILLED to the rafters with every basic kind of junk, refuse and detritus known to man (except razors). Sign on the bathroom door said "Bathroom stuff for sale" so I peeked in the medicine cabinet and found a full, dust-caked bottle of what looks to be a late '70s a/s called Denin. Had never heard of it before, smelled pretty nice, kinda different. The nice old lady who ran the joint let me have it for 50 cents. Anyone remember this stuff?

 

It's amazing how many names there is for trash. Lol

Midden, refuse, garbage, rubbish, detritus....

Cool find though.

Denin? No. I do remember 'Denim' from the late 70's—"...For the men who don't have to try too hard"—whatever that implied. I'm guessing from their campaign with rather suggestive & provocative imagery, they weren't speaking of difficulty with finding a job or landing a big fish….

 

Cella, 20 GEM blades and 20 injector blades. The injector blades are for a young friend whom I taught how to properly shave. He's out of blades again, and since I was visiting Connaughtshaving...

The Cella scent is great! Can't wait until tomorrow for the first use. My son loves amaretto and almonds in general and he likes the scent as well! I see packages of 1 kg in our future...

 

Was it really 90 degrees in Northern Utah on Tuesday? I thought there was an early winter storm blowing across the country this week.
