    C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream
    Omega Pro 98 boar brush
    Gillette Super Speed '47
    Astra SP
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Clubman

The C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Omega Pro 98 Boar Brush. Two passes with my '47 Gillette Super Speed and Astra SP blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I just bought a gift pack recently at Burlington Coat Factory that included an 8oz AS and an 8oz cologne for less than the normal price of the AS alone. Lots of department stores and stores like WalMart have started to stock up on gift sets and have them prominently displayed and heavily discounted.

    Shave of the Day

    "Shave My Dad Edition"

    Prep: Hot towel
Razor: Wilkinson Sword Empire 7 day
Blade: Wilkinson Wedge, Wednesday blade, stropped 10 times
    Brush: Rubberset 400-4 Silvertip
    Cream: TOBS Sandalwood
Shave (setting): WTG (25%), XTG, ATG + Cleanup (75%)
    Post: Pinaud Clubman

My dad agreed to let me shave him, I have never shaved anyone before so I was extremely nervous. He had a WEEK of growth.

He had never wet shaved before, never had a brush on his face, never used anything but a cartridge.

I did the whole barbershop experience on him, laid him back in a chair and hot toweled his face, and mixed my lather in a hot mug.

It was a CHORE to shave him with that weeks worth of growth. Man, it was difficult. But I got the hair down to manageable on the 2nd pass and by the 4th pass he was pretty clean. Some cleanup on his neck resulted in a little burn, to my chagrin.

But after it was done and I hit him with the Clubman, (which he hadn't used before and really FELT lol) and he remarked about how smooth his face was. Neck burn notwithstanding, I'm pretty happy about the experience. It was absolutely tiring to do this shave. I need a ton more practice.

No shave for me tonight though.

    Good night

Gary, I've been wanting to try the Personna 74s. Do you mind telling me your source for them?
Edit: Never mind. I saw in another thread where they are no longer in production. Pity, seems like a good blade.

    THURSDAY
    Evening Shave for Tomorrow
A truly-smooth 3-pass shave tonight using the big 6/8 Hersko. I touched up the edge with one of the Apache hones, and was rewarded with a very comfy shave.
    Have a great Thursday, all!

I think that's the classiest looking razor I've seen. It's beautiful!
Cool grain in the scales, and the hardware on the pins is so elegant. How old?

I would venture to guess late 19th-early 2oth century. H. J. Herskovitz was an American importer of razors and various other items. This razor was a $20 Thrift store find. Turned into a very sweet shaver thats gotten a lot of use this past year!

Thanks. I have no idea who made it as original box had no markings and I was quite surprised to find it shaved better than the 39c that I had at the time ago I sold off the 39c but eventually picked up an iKon slant too.
