Postal service holiday Tuesday = overstuffed mailbox Wednesday. Four arrived today. An unidentified vintage razor of dubious descent; a Merkur 15C, a RazoRock Jaws, and an EJ89... All from a couple of Reddit WTS threads. Got all four for a total of $50 shipped! I think I did well. The drawback is that this is making NO-Variation NOVember even harder!
1948 Super Speed New, never used, in box. 1st cousin twice removed bought it new in 1948 for one dollar and never used it. Put it away. Until he gave it to me. Now I have it and it's awesome... The box is so cool, it looks brand new. Some vintage Gillette thin blades, copper colored Are these common, colored gold/copper? 3 from my great grandpa, my grandma had them and she actually used the Flare Tip. 1951 Super Speed W1 1955 Super Speed Flare Tip A3 GEM OCMM Burmashave tin Royall Spyce Vintage blades - Wilkinson Sword and Schick Platinum Teflon Shave brush handle, Sanax brand
Really awesome to have obtained these family heirlooms (the razor from your cousin included)! The other items are great as well. Congratz! (is it Christmas yet? )
It sure felt like it today, especially that brand new old SS. It went straight to the display case to look pretty. Thanks Mike
And another package today: The pic isn't great, but it is in full working order. Doors close up nicely, adjusting mechanism works pretty good as well. Only a bit of plate loss on the handel, but nothing bad. Just a bit of cleaning needed. See what this beastie does tomorrow morning!
Tim, WOW! Incredible gift. 1948 was the first year Gillette used a notched bar. A valuable family heirloom for sure. Will you use it? Mark
Heck no... Lol I have another 48 as well, I'll just use it. This makes 3 of those late 40s ss razors in my collection. Thanks Mark
Good! They are great shavers. I used one of my '49s today. One of my Birth Year Razors. It was a good year! lol
SWMBO had this stuff framed and it was waiting in the office wall yesterday. I was at the incredible Game 1 of the 1988 World Series Dodgers vs. A's. I was NOT one of the unfortunate souls who left early and missed Kirk Gibson's dinger in the bottom of the ninth.
