Only place in box things that you are fine with someone appropriating. Once you tape it shut...it belongs to the project, until such time it returns!

I thought @Bristle Me made some good points in PM, too! Rather than being a mini Nationwide Box Tour, he pointed out the merits of a focus item. If someone changes the focus item, that kills the URL (<— trial use. I like it.). However, complementary items are optional, but seem part of the fun to me.

I originally thought that URLs would be for razors. But why not brushes? For that matter, why not soap? I guess anything that can last through several participants is game. I was going to express my doubt over razor blades, but if you want to send 50 blades out on a URL, who's to say it won't work?

SIDE NOTE: Does "URL" work in context? Does anyone trip over "Universal Resource Locator?" Just askin'.

This concept probably works best on razors. And the focus item is central to the concept, IMHO.

When Sean first proposed this, I jumped on it because it touched on something that I thought
would be interesting on several fronts.
    Basically his OP said:
    1. Try this Yuma razor.
    2. Post your thoughts on it after you have shaved with it.
Tell everybody anything and everything you liked about the razor,
and everything you did not like about it.

In it's most casual form, this project would let those who were interested in XXX razor to try it out.

What a wingnut like me would like to see done is something a bit more involved.

My version of this involves an electronic survey with comments by each user after their
trial shaving period has concluded, and that data kept here for all to see.
The problem is, ideas are pretty much free and relatively easy to come up with.
Turning ideas in reality is something altogether different.

So, I hope some form of the "Razor Tour" works out.

If anyone is interested in the more detailed version of what I'm thinking, please feel free to PM me.

It's hard for me to not read it as Universal Resource Locator. But most of the time I also read ATG as a squat where a certain part of the anatomy touches the green stuff growing out of the ground. So I can get over it.

When I think about my reasons for passing a razor around, I am most motivated to hear what the TSD gang has to say. I want "us" to share "our" views and hope that they can become another TSD resource. I keep thinking of the result as a collective review.

I also think that the heart of starting a collective review is the sponsor being willing to let go of the item... gratis... no strings or expectations... just the hope of providing others with shaving enjoyment. Isn't that also the motivation of any PIF? I think the motivation is central to both.

TSDers, for your consideration, I humbly nominate the acronym PCR — a PIF for Collective Review. Any takers?

It doesn't really ring for me, but the more I think about it the more it seems to fit. Makes me think of Charlie Brown's Christmas tree after Linus talks it up a bit. :)

    SO... does it have chops?
