Tyr's Day - Island of Misfit Shaving Toys edition:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Cleaning Gentle Scrub cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Beeline Boar
    Soap: Godrej Lemon-Lime Fresh
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Dorco-300 (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, Aveeno Active Naturals AS balm
    Cologne: Burberry Brit by Burberry

[Carnac the Magnificent]I hold, in my 41c, the last Dorco-300[/Carnac the Magnificent]. I don't DISLIKE the Dorco-300, but it's not one of my top 3 or even 5 blades at this point; I doubt I'll be getting any more now that I've gone through the tuck. I finally ditched my VDH brush for excessive shedding, and I am not sure I'll hold onto the Beeline much longer, for similar reasons. The Godrej lathers well enough, but the lather dissipates by the time I've gotten around to the 3rd pass, which is a bit frustrating. All that said, I managed a nearly BBS result with only one tiny weeper in the mustache area.

He will be offering all three versions. The other two are back on the site. They are just out of stock after the big sale. Great news!

Thank you. Yup, I just might. Still searching, though, but I thought it to be prudent to start a new blade at the same setting as today's shave.

Shave of the day, Tuesday Nov 18, or, welcome to my den tiny bathroom butler!

    So I skipped a shave yesterday. I had the day off, and I spent the whole day working on improving my den. New shelves and organization, I built some wall mounted razor racks that turned out well. So now it is in good order, nicely decorated and every single thing is firmly anchored to the walls... no more unpleasant mishaps in my shave area! So it is a new day, practically a new area, and with the help of Tiny Bathroom Butler, it is time to get this week's shaving started;

Also, I liked @macaronus' ideas of music with the shave so much, that I decided to respectfully steal it. I bought a little speaker for my iPods and tried it out this morning. It made an enjoyable thing more enjoyable! So to macaronus, thanks!
    Music- Dancehall '69
    Pre- Kiehl's face fuel
    Prep- homemade eucalyptus/lavender oil
    Water-Cold
Soap- Bearded Jack cherry vanilla tobacco
    Mug- Marvy vintage
    Brush- Certifyd vintage
    Razor- Gillette Slim
    Blade- Astra SP
    Rinse- Thayers Lavender
    Aftershave- Florida water
    Cologne- Eau Sauvage
    Assistance- Tiny Bathroom Butler

Aahhhh. Skipping a day made this one all the better. I don't use my slim often, today made me wonder why. Set on 5, I got a great shave. BBS, no injuries, no irritation. One thorough pass, plus most of another as cleanup... a great comfortable shave in a comfortable area. Another day off today. A positive start to the week.

    Razor: Gillette Slim (k3) 1965 (5)
    Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip 30/45
Mug: Old Spice (late glass Mug 04) 1970s -1992 The last OS Mugs
    Cream: TOBS Coconut
    Blade: Feather (2)
Pre shave: Tree Hut Shea body wash Mango
Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Azzaro AS Balm, Old Spice original Shulton 1980 glass AS (gift from my father in law)
    image.jpg
The WD Silvertip is a great soft brush on my face, but with its low set whipped up the TOBS in no time. I really like the slim the heavy handle and head gave me a nice smooth shave with no pressure. Just 2 passes WTG XTG on my face, and WTG ATG on my neck with the Slim set at (3). Just have to not over buff my neck, because on 3 the Slim is very mild, even with a Feather. The Shea Mango for the pre-shave helped. No burn!

Nice brush! Is that the original knot! I have a few old brushes with the original knots and they still work great.

I had a tooth pulled this morning. It was difficult and took a long time. Now too numb to shave. Can't remember the last time I missed. Same plan as Tuesday.

Razor: Gillette Super speed + GEM Push Button
Blade: Dorco ST 301 + GEM PTFE
Brush: Custom ACE silvertip, maple handle, by GDCarrington
    Lather: 3P
    Post: Omega Balm

I was getting passable shaves with the Racer blade. Uncomfortable but passable. This Dorco blade is too dull and was uncomfortable and tuggy. I did not complete even half a pass with the SS before I grabbed my GEM Push Button for a good comfortable shave. These coconut oil soaps really like to be ultra-lathered for best protection.
