Dubl Duck, Tabac, an RB400 and some Floid. A fine shave. And "Huzzah!" for the Weekend! :bounce017:

Lot of gold on that one. Nice to see razors from a 7 day set.

Probably just in the turn - if your grip isn't firm enough it can wander a bit up or down the tang and with that "swooping" arc you'll have different widths to accommodate. But a small tang (thinner &/or narrower) isn't a bad thing in my admittedly limited experience - I've got a couple razors with really small tangs and they're actually very comfortable making the turn.

yep, its the curve that presents the smooth-flipping-of-the-razor-challenge. I noticed on this Rodgers razor that although the tang is hefty, the curve of the notch takes some getting used to when stropping.

I really like the Koraat - what price range are they, his web page does not list prices

Luv those city-blue scales on that Filarmonica cubano. That one and Robert's Filarmonica with the sort of milk-jade green scales. Beauties the both of 'em!

An ol' Packwood this morning, 13/16 an' dressed in some new cherrywood scales, tung oil & carnauba wax finished. A very fine shave indeed this morning...Mitchell's & the new/old Culmak and a standard 2-pass clean, close & comfy shave onna beautiful drizzly Saturday. :santa

This Packwood has a bit of a funny ol' tang as well - feels about double-wide but extra thin too. Just different but it takes a bit of getting used to allthesame. Nice jimps top & bottom though so it's an easy one to grip, it just feels more like your turning a coin in hand than a razor!

Today I used the new Filly 8/8 Doble temple for the second time ( see above for the first time post) I took it back to 1k, 4k,8k,12k and stropped 50 times linen and 100 leather and the razor came alive. I just wish I had a 20K Gukomyo or Zulu Grey or one of the Apaches to finish it with. I have to make up my mind which one. I understand Glenn will be reviewing the Apache soon ( I hope)
Soap - MDC scented with Truffitt & Hill Rose crème and glycerin - this lather was an Oh My God lather, maybe the best I have ever made
    AS - LaToja splash

Next Sunday, November 30, 2014 will be the first anniversary of this thread. I started this thread hoping it would spark more interest in straight razors on TSD. I think it has succeeded. I see more straight razor posts on the shave of the day and more threads with information or questions about straight razors and so many beautiful photos on this thread. As of today, we have 1995 replies, 100 pages and 27439 views.

With each new TSD member who drinks the SR kool aid, the numbers will continue to grow. I've been thankful for the willingness of so many here to share their SR experiences with those of us who are just getting our feet wet. And thank YOU, Robert, for starting this thread. With the beautiful razors depicted in the nearly 2000 posts, it certainly has fed my desire to acquire… :D
