1. So in a continued, prolonged mood of pure insanity I bought some more razors that are now making their way over to me. And, just like the last couple of razor I am not 100% sure on what I bought.

    I am guessing the following;

Left: One piece, TTO, safety bar, a la 1940

    Right: One-piece, TTO OC, a la 1934

There's umpteen different versions/flavor of those though so no idea which particular sub-model they are.
If anyone got a better guess I'd be very happy to hear it.

End of the day I don't have either razor and hopefully they'll clean up ok.
  2. Right is a Sheraton.

Left is a Ranger Tech (I think 1941 because I cannot see endcaps).

  3. I have been jonesing for a Sheraton. Something tells me I'd enjoy an open comb TTO.
  4. Thanks!
I'll post some pics once I get them.
Not knowing a lot about the Sheraton/Ranger Tech are they considered common - and more importantly good razors? :)
Maybe I'm buying 'good' razors through fool's luck?

Also...should I clean these up using the same process as you linked to for the single-ring Gillettes I bought - or some other process for these ones - or the nickel one?
    Maybe...maas? :)

  6. Inorite!?!

Well, that was the last of the spree. Not going near that site again for some time.

  8. Technically that is 'some time' :)
  9. Nice! I hade bid on a loot of razors, but regret it right after hahaha buy it was not a high bid. Either someone bids higher or i win a couple of razors =P
  10. the procedure Gary gave you link to only is useful for silver plated items.
the chrome plated and gold plated ones should be handled more delicately.
a very short soak with non bleach scubbing bubbles. then some tlc with a soft toothbrush, I used a dab of toothpaste for the stubborn spots. then qtips for the impossible to reach areas.
    blind luck or not.
you did good, four nice shaving razors. not a dud in the bunch.
the Sheridan is the only one I don't have, yet.
  11. The score of scores, right there. Enjoy them both!
  12. Beautiful. I too would love to try that TTO OC.
  13. The Sheraton if it still has the gold finish should be cleaned with the Haggarty's polish I told you about after a 45 minute cold water soak with Dawn liquid. If the finish is messed up and scratched you may want to send it to Chris at Razor Plate and get it refinished in Gold as original spec.

The Ranger Tech if it is in good shape plating wise should be cleaned in hot water for 30 minutes with Dawn liquid and then Flitz polish (the polish which I have never had any issues with nickel and chrome plating but I do not use it for silver or gold plating.)

  14. Nice score! You just gotta watch it though with those Sheratons..they're kinda quarrelsome and like to pick fights with the other razors in the drawer. Gary's always having to pry his apart after they've been in a razor fight..:kar:

  15. Sweet. I find the Sheraton to be extremely mild, destroying the myth OCs are more aggressive.

  16. Looking forward to trying them out!
Oh..those two razors also came with..uh...another 6-7 razors or so in a lot...but these were the two I was really curious about :)
  17. Sounds like good stuff for a PIF.

  18. Actually you're reading my mind - there are at least 3-4 razors in the lot I already have/don't care about.
I already have 5-6 soaps lined up. Thinking I might do razor-soap paired PIFs. :)

  19. The pairing sounds like a good idea!
