Shave soap as bath soap?

Anyone use a shave soap as a bath soap? I found a puck of Col. Conk Amber that I didn't like to shave with, and tossed it out. Then I immediately took it back and put it in the shower. I've used it for the last couple of days as a shower soap, and I like it. Very moisturizing. The only drawback is that it make the tub floor very slick, which makes sense. Goof stuff though. I'd consider using it in the shower regularly if it were cheaper.

I tried it with Tabac. Wife called the fire department.

Tried it once but the brush tickled too much.:happy108:

Had that same problem with MdC once. Scraped it out of the jar, worked great as a shower soap.

Kidding. I'm kidding. :scared003: It seems wrong even joking about that.

I do it. I hit up local soap vendor at craft fairs an such for shave soap. Usually they are not that good for shaving but delightful bath bars. Etsy is full of soap that should not be shaved with but great shaving scents make good soap

I've been washing with a big old bar of Aramis shave soap for going on 2 months. It's about gone now. Have received no complaints.

Sure, no reason not to. It is still soap, after all. So if it proves not to be good for shaving, you may as well wash with it, rather than let it go to waste.

I Coloniali was my bath soap. The smell is amzing on the skin after the shower and lingers a relativ long time.

This morning I washed my hair with the rich, sudsy suds I squeezed out of my shave brush. Worked fine, but I denounce myself anyway. [IMG]

Standard use for pucks that turn out sub-par. I enjoy experimenting, but for sure you will come across a few duds that way. At one time I had enough shave soap lined up for the shower to last about a year. Could not bring myself to use Williams that way though - the constant retching the scent induced made it hard to complete my shower!

This could be a great Christmas gift for those that shower with Williams soap.

All the time; the soaps that I just don't enjoy the scents of get relegated to this duty! :lyrtuy5:

I use shave soap for general face cleansing. I shower with Bee&Flower Chinese Soap because I like the sandalwood barber shop vibe. Soap can be found online at Walgreens. It's about a dollar a bar, smells awesome, and lasts a while, extremely dense triple milled soap.

Williams smells like citronella to me. I've debated about taking it camping to use as a bath soap that keeps mosquitos away.

I smelled a puck of Williams for the first time yesterday, and it smelled exactly like mosquito repellent; a synthetic-citronella smell. I don't really mind the smell, but it's not something that I would like to shave with, or even shower with, really. Might as well just use Ivory soap.

It's actually a nice shaving soap once you learn to lather it properly.
