Finley's Barber Shop, Austin, Texas. I had my first barbershop shave today. What an excellent experience! Nothing like being pampered. Very nice but had more stubble than I expected. DFS not BBS. I get a better shave with my double edge.
Did they use a real straight or a shavette? I find that their shavette blades are usually dulled and they don't change them enough
Thanksgiving Day (90% done) Nivea for Men Sensitive Face Wash C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream Omega Pro 98 boar brush Gillette Super Speed '47 Astra SP CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayers Lemon WH Pinaud Clubman Forty-three and partly cloudy this Thanksgiving morning. The C.O. Bigelow Shaving Cream face-lathered very easily with my Omega Pro 98 Boar Brush. Two passes with my '47 Gillette Super Speed and Astra SP blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... We are off for two days with the boys and their families. Have a blessed day y'all.

Congrats Mark on the Barbershop Shave! I gave myself a serious shave yesterday as well, here are the before and after pics: Before: (before I started doing the dome shaving.) After: Made a promise I would shave the beard if my Wife reached her goal for the Northern California Shriners Hospital for Children and it was time to pay up. I used the Joseph Rodgers Wedge to take it off and got a little carving around the inside of the 'Stach on both sides. After 14 years of having never seen the daylight, the skin underneith was a little tender. I will tuffen it up in the next few weeks to get used to being shaved. I'm probably going to go with just the 'stach for awhile. My Wife likes the full beard and wants me to grow it back but, I am tired of it and she doesn't like the 'stach and goatee thing so, here's Brucie!
Razor: Gillette gold toggle (D1) 1958 (5) (3) Brush: e-shave Badger Mug: Old Spice 1985 Cobalt Blue Cream: Maca Root Blade: Feather (1) Post shave: Thayers Cucumber WH, Jack Black cooling gel, Tuscany Rare night time shave. I stuff and cook the turkey at our house so I will be busy on Thanksgiving day. I love to cook, so it's fun. Everyone helps out, from peeling potatoes for my famous garlic parmesan cheese mashed potatoes, to making the green bean casserole. Mmmmmm. The Maca Root whipped up thick lather, I really like this cream. Great cushion and no preshave needed. Ok, now for the setting on the toggle. I use the same setting as on my FB but the toggle seems more crisp and precise. I dropped in a new Feather, checked the alignment and was good to go for my first pass WTG on my face and neck. I only use my toggle on special occasions so this is a treat. So far so good, very close on this pass. A little rinse to see how we are doing and relather for a XTG pass on my face and set to 3 for ATG on my neck. Some more lather for touch up on my neck and we are done. Warm water rinse and pat dry. Some WH and after cleanup some Jack Black AS gel, then some Tuscany and all is good. Another DFS for my toggle. The extra weight and the great balance of the toggle make it very easy to just let the razor do the work, and enjoy the ride. I love this razor. Pies are done! Happy Thanksgiving y'all!

I had a beard for many years. I prefer the clean shaven look now. And it is more fun and I look younger, just like you.
Thanks Guy. Yep! It took a couple of days to get the courage to start chopping. Do I look a little different that I did back in August?
