Last night's shave. 2 pass BBS. I hadn't used Arko in awhile, but it didn't let me down.

    Sune's day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Cleaning Gentle Scrub cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger
    Soap: RazoRock One-X
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Asco Super Stainless (3)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (7, 8)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock One-X AS splash
Cologne: Le 3e Homme d' Caron by Caron

Excellent prep this morning, with the most exfoliating of my facial scrubs. I also let the preshave balm sit on my stubble a bit longer than usual, as I skipped yesterday's shave. Naturally, the One-X produced terrific lather with the Simspons 56. Unfortunately, the slight aging I'd noticed on Friday with the Asco was in full force this AM, as even all that good prep couldn't keep the shave from being tuggy and uncomfortable. As a result, I stopped at 2 passes and a DFS result, and loaded up a Baili for tomorrow.

    Mastro Livi Inox "Grifone"

What a shave! I knew I like this Mastro Livi stainless steel, the very same used for Grifetto, and this artisan made straight razor is just spectacular. Simply confirming the excellent quality of this stainless steel, particularly selected for Grifetto, it is the former "sperimental inox" Mastro Livi used for some of his razors before starting the production of his Grifetto. I have been the very first one to test this stainless steel and it has been love at first sight. That's why I wanted a totally hand made straight razor made from this steel. I absolutely love my new Grifone razor, as well as Mastro Livi Grifetto!

I think the Gada Cool Mint is absolutely awesome - it's made in Lebanon and so cheap. Over there it costs less than .50 and over here in Montreal you can buy a 75 gram tube for under 2,00$ so you get unbelievable value. It has a lovely minty/lemony scent with great lather and plenty of menthol cooling, along with excellent, soothing skincare because it also contains camomile. The Proraso Green aftershave is another wonderful aftershave which I love - there's no shortage of menthol with stuff either. Today's shave was darned good from my Lord Super. ;) :D

    Know thyself
I tried Maggard's Cinnaconilla today. From the puck, it smells like a cinnamon forest, when lathered the pine comes to the front in a very pleasant way. I really like the scent, unfortunately, I've discovered that I'm sensitive to cinnamon EO - my face got red, but not painful. After the first pass and a half, I finished with Maggard's London Barbershop. I got a great shave. I applied some cortisone cream to my neck and Shea Moisture balm on my face and I'm already seeing reduced redness.
It's a shame because this soap performs very well - easy yogurt lather and a great scent. I'll have to send it along to someone who can handle the cinnamon. I'm not mad in any way... The website said that this soap can cause a reaction in people with sensitive skin. I just did not know I was sensitive. Live and learn.

Finally finished my tube of Old Spice cream yesterday, so get to move onto something new. Wouldn't you know it? Joanna sent me a package from The Shave Den Shop and well, I decided I ought to try out the coconut.

I liked it. I loaded my horsehair brush well and made some nice slick and protective lather right on the old face. 3 passes later and I was smelling faintly like an island, with the coconut and bay rum scents.

    Prep: glycerin soap
    Pre-Shave Oil: Shave Secret
Brush: 20mm Whipped dog set deep
    Scuttle: Georgetown Pottery
    Razor: Straight
    Blade: 3/8 Wedge
Lather: Lilac Soap (Geo. F. Trumper)
    Post: Alum sprayed on
    Witch Hazel: Generic Rose Scented
    A/S: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man
Balm: Avon Musk Marine After Shave Conditioner

I like to treat myself to nice floral straight shave occasionally. Today was lilac courtesy of Geo. F. Trumper. I like the scent, but it is much too subtle for my tastes. I have already tried virtually all of the Lavender and Rose out there and am settled on my choices for these. Who has suggestions on floral scents other than Lavender and Rose? With the exception of the Lilac Trumper's, I can't seem to find much available that is not Lavender or Rose. Does anyone know what I am missing?

I really like that dish and brush handle.
