Injector & SE Party !!!

Thank you so much for your shaving suggestions, and your feedback. I have read all 120 pages of this thread, and am thankful for all the information so freely given by all the people here. I may just wait until I get a few injector shaves under my belt....and then see....oh yea...after the wedding.... (2 weeks and counting)

 

When are those injectors supposed to make the scene...I hope its in time to give you a brilliant shave for your up coming nuptials....

Thanks... as we both are retreads, we are having as small ceremony and supper with immediate family, right close to home, just outside of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (If you have ever flown into the Edmonton International Airport, you probably flew over the hotel where we are having the event, when you were on final approach) I have been checking tracking every few hours..... still in the USA, but should be in Canada soon...The I1 should be crossing from NY to Quebec or Ontario today, and then a few days to me!!! Not that I'm excited. the blades are already ordered.....2 Chinese shick packs, and one pack from a Canadian supplier of Personna SS coated. Oh yes, and a trial pack of SE from Tryablade.....for after the wedding. And yes... we are pretty happy about getting hitched.

 

Congratulations on the wedding, and as you can see, there are a few of us that are diehard SE nuts, I mean fans! I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

Congrats jakie55. In the summer of 2013 friends got married in Leduc. And I have spent quite a bit of time in Edmonton.

 

29 November Shave
The Omega Pro 49 has broken in well and worked up a good lather with Mama Bear's Aged Spice soap. The fragrance of the Mama Bear's Aged Spice soap was much more on line with Old Spice than the Soap Commander I tried last week. The Type F injector provides a very aggressive shave. The mix of several different Old Spice fragrances provides a good approximation of the Old Spice scent. That helped to bring the Old Spice vibe into my morning. All in all a good shave.

I am in love with the TTO action on my Micromatic. The way the door shuts, then slides forward... boy is that cool.

 

I like my two OC Micromatics as well. Very, very solid build quality

 

Since GEM beat Gillette by several years in the TTO market with the release of Micromatic what's not to like!

 

not only beat them to the punch, but produced a TTO razor that is bullet proof in many ways....I think it's definitely more sophisticated than any of Gillette's TTOs....I mean this guy doesn't disassemble, and its head closes and pushes the blade forward to lock it in the prefered angle for shaving....Like some kind of futuristic attenna-ed Gadget from the Jetsons this razor is both futuristic and retro...

It arguably shaves closer than any Gillette TTO, at least that I'm familiar with...
And as far as bullet proof, I saw a couple examples found with a mine detector in the mud were the Battle of the Bulge had been fought 60 or 70 years prior, and both examples were rinsed off and performed admirably. There is nothing finicky about the doors being aligned on this guy. And someone either here or at TOST ran over one with a truck and stuck the top back on and its operation was fine....

Case rest! Not only first but better in my opinion....YMMV. I think I'm going to shave with my beautiful Gold OCMM that Tom gifted me as a very generous and elegant intro to Single Edge Shaving....

 

And they even produced a "bullet tip" TTO! Eh?

 

Just received this J3: Golden 500 Hydro-Magic off eBay. I've never seen a vintage razor this clean!

Jim, you will find those J series injectors will spoil you, especially the Hydro-Magic models.

 

Cleaned up my G-Bar and will use it for the first time this week

 

Looks brand new. Hope it shaves just as well.
