I have been using Vitalis for the last week. I like it's scent better, but it sometimes feels a bit greasy. While the Jeris always feels nice and clean. There has been an bottle of Old Spice hair tonic on the bay that has calling my name... maybe if it is still lingering after the holidays.

Jaz... How's the 1904 shave? I've got one ready and waiting, but haven't used it yet.

    Early morning shave for Thursday

    DSCN0100[1] (1024x768).jpg

I have to be to my part time job by 0600 tomorrow, so posting now.

    Mystic Water shaving soap
    Omega Pro 48 brush
    Gillette Old Style vintage 1918.
    Crystal blade
Lucky Tiger AS and Face Tonic
    Pinaud Clubman aftershave

Continuing to refine my technique with the Gillette Old Style. This mornings shave was the best so far with this razor. The biggest adjustment I have had to make is is the angle, using a shallow angle. This could still take awhile to master this razor.

    Wednesday morning -

Prep - Noxzema & hot towel
    Lather - Mitchell's Wool Fat & suribachi
    Brush - Culmak SM2 w/ 24mm Omega boar @ 47mm
    Razor - Wm. Greaves 7/8

    2 pass
Warm water rinse & cold water splash
    Alum block & Witch-hazel AS

Another wet & mild one here today - 32ºF/0ºC at the start, 37ºF/ 3ºC at the end of it, and nice an' drizzly throughout all of it. An excellent shave this morning nevertheless - used a different big Greaves than yesterday but to much the same effect really - close & comfy and bairn's arse smooth. The Culmak with it's new Omega boar made short work of the Mitchell's, and the lather was outstanding, as ever. Have a good 'un folks and Pray for Snow!!

    Col. Conk Lime Shave Soap
    Omega Pro 49 boar brush
    Schick Krona
    Feather Hi-Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Vegetal

The Col. Conk Lime Shave Soap lathered well with my Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush. I am bowl lathering until I get the stitches out of my cheek. Two passes with my Schick Krona and Feather Hi-Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Vegetal after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

youngunn Where's my TSD aftershave balm???

Their Victory scent can start burning after a while, but I figured it was due to the spiciness of it. I'll shave with warp punk tonight.

Never tried the Brain Freeze, but I agree with you about the Frost_byte. It pulverizes my face with menthol almost on contact. The Stirling Glacial soaps are even colder, however. :)

RazorRock Brain Freeze is anything but. I used it for a while and found the menthol almost nonexistent. I used Stirling Glacial Ice in NO-vember and it was wonderfully cold! Tried a sample of Stirling Glacial Obsidian and couldn't see for the amount my eyes watered! Great stuff!

    Shave of the Day

Prep: hot shower, Almond Shea Butter conditioner, Somerset's Pre-shave Oil
Razor: 1909 Gillette Old type single ring
    Blade: Ladas Stainless
    Brush: Rubberset 400-4 Silvertip
    Lather: Whoos - It's Elementary
Shave: 3 passes; WTG, XTG, ATG + Cleanup
    Post: Clubman Special Reserve

This razor, omg, this razor. It's wonderful. The razor was so smooth and the balance so nice that after 3 swipes I ran into the living room and told my wife "I LOVE THIS RAZOR"...

The Ladas blade I hadn't used in a while and started good but started grabbing towards the end. I remember it being like that last time, so I guess they don't like my face.

I had a heckuva time getting a foam free lather from this soap this time. Once on the face it was fine though and didn't disappear. The scent was very nice, think Sherlock smoking tobacco while walking in a field in England. Green and smoky at the same time.

Paired that scent with a musky Special Reserve aftershave. Ended up with a great smooth shave.

youngunn Where's my TSD aftershave balm???

Well. Just got done shaving with it, towards the end of the shave I started to get a little heat from the soap. Not unbearable though. I don't know what is in this soap that causes this.

Could it be the bentonite clay? This doesn't seem like an ingredient in other soaps.

I'm not sure. My soap was very uncomfortable! I'm going to try trip wire, I'll see what that's like. Michelle has been very proactive, I'm willing to give it another try. I hope someone chimes in about the bentonite clay.

    Evening Shave for Tomorrow

My first shave with a restored fine German-made razor by F. W. Engels, fresh off the hones. I haven't used a round-tip razor in some time. Much easier to shave knowing you're far less likely to gouge. Downside is not having a right-angle for those tight trim areas (mustache, corners of the mouth, etc.). A very nice shaver—certainly much lighter than the big Sheffield blades I've been dragging across my mug the past few days. :happy088:
Not only a great shave, but the wife is a fan of the whole pumpkin spice/bay rum spice scent….:love055:

    Have a wonderful Thursday, everyone!

Not to scare you but you need to treat that bug very seriously. Don't get run down by overdoing it. And just because you don't feel sick doesn't mean that little bug is done with you, so take care. Get well soon, my friend!:eatdrink047:

    December 3rd shave

Had a great shave. I haven't used my Edwin Jagger for a long time and it has become quite apparent that my technique has improved a lot since i last used it.
One thing i learnt from no variation november was to load my brush for a lot longer and this gave me a wonderful rich, creamy lather from the Cella.

    Blade - Wilkinson Sword
