I learned I like the Astra Stainless Steel blades almost as much as the Platinum ones.

And the cat isn't trying to bury you? I'm surprised... ;)

I can't shave with menthol soaps because they numb my face to the point I don't feel feedback from the blade and I don't know how much pressure I'm using. Now AFTER the shave, that's different. LOL.

I could deal with the numb...but had trouble shaving my neck due to eyes filling up with tears!

I learned that I will NEVER travel again without a DE. Going back to carts for the past 4 days has to be like purgatory, better than the alternative but not really acceptable either.

Silver Blue's provided a pretty decent 2 pass shave today.

For those who haven't seen it and an encore for those who have forgotten. Watch at the 4 minute mark and be sure to use sound.

    I learned,

Shaving in a hurry is very hard. I need to figure out how to shave when I have only 15 - 20 minutes. I didn't get any prep other than PSO and I paid for it.

Silver Blues are my current Fave! Welcome to WDWLG (what did we learn, gentlemen?)!
@youngunn may have started a thing with this thread...

I learned today, by virtue of participating in TSD, and through my last shave...

that Yuma makes a serviceable razor.

Ditto, and I hope you heal up soon! When I am pressed for time in the morning, the best thing I can do is skip the shave. However, skipping is awfully difficult because I enjoy shaving, and the scruff bugs me by the afternoon.

Tears of joy, to be sure! :sad023: But I would rather have liver (yuck) for dinner than endure a shave like that. :happy102:

I learned that the GEM Heavy Flat Top razor is capable of producing a great shave.
The jury is still out on the handle though :)

I also re-realized that the Zirh Erase tonic is fantastic.

Thanks, I'm hoping to see/read your thoughts on the Gillette Single Ring here soon :)

    Just finished shaving with it.

Tonight I learned... The single ring old type is an amazing razor. After 3 swipes I ran into the living room, all lathered up, and exclaimed to my wife "I LOVE THIS RAZOR!"

    Thoughts:
    1) "Wow, can't wait until I try mine!"
    2) How is he still married?

I agree, Proraso Green seems very forgiving finding the right water / cream balance.

I just taught my brother-in-law how to DE shave on Thanksgiving after dinner. I made a point to bring Proraso Green, as it provides very consistent lather. I think it is a soap suitable for shavers of all levels of skill/experience with the brush. The Red lathers just as well from my experience.
