I learned I like Voskhod blades in my Slim a lot more than with my ball end Tech. Was very smooth with with the Slim on 5. Seemed very tuggy with the Tech.
I learned that even if the slant doesn't feel like it is cutting, don't apply pressure. It's cutting.
I learned that I can do a hurry up shave with cremo and no prep and a black tip and achieve a DFS. Good to know for the next time I really need it...
From my last shave... I learned that French style shave soaps handle differently on the brush than mass market Croaps like Proraso.
Just one little piece on my scalp. Nothing a day or two of healing can't fix. I just have to fend off my wife's comments for a day or two about how I never used to cut myself with cartridges
I learned that Strop Shoppe soaps are fantastic & that Voshkod blades are quickly become my favorite blade of choice.
I can never read "croaps" without reading something else in my head. It always sounds like a bodily function. As in "he up and croaped in his bed last night... His funeral is Tuesday" or "I've got to find a bathroom or I'm going to croap my pants."
I learned, since it's the first time I used this razor, that the GEM Feather weight is a very capable, mild razor.
I learned that 15 minutes is enough time to prep, shave my head, and clean up after... But it doesn't leave any time to really enjoy the shave. 15 minutes is almost bordering on "you might as well skip today and allow more time for tomorrow,"
Yeah it really isn't enjoyable at all... But sometimes you gotta be clean shaven for an event and are running late. I have to be clean shaven for morning and evening worships, just two times a week but if I overslept or didn't get home until late I have to do the fast shave.
If it is any consolation, I have taken "J" slices out of my scalp back in the day when I was bald, and shaved with cartridges, so..... inattention will bite one with any sharp implement.
When I set out to do a perfect BBS shave. I shave just before bed so any redness or miner iritation got during a super close shave will be gone by the morning. The shave will still be looking nice and smooth in the AM, atleast it's that way for me with my beard growth. Happy Shave On To All, Bill G
From my last shave... I learned that a TSD lanolin soap stick is easy to use, makes slick lather...and makes my face feel frosty good.
