Nivea for Men Sensitive Face Wash
    Williams Mug Shaving Soap
    Omega Pro 49 boar brush
    Schick Krona
    Feather Hi-Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Vegetal

The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush. Two passes with my Schick Krona and Feather Hi-Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Vegetal after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Decided to prematurely end my Gem freak out session. The bottom line is that by time Saturday rolls around, my mornings get a bit sluggish. Realized that I had lost a few minutes off my shave time and had to get it done quick, or skip it. Went with quick. With that being said, I decided no experiments! So I picked out some Arko, which is my preferred 'in a hurry' soap, and a DE that I am comfortable with. I did use a blade I haven't used. And a new aftershave...ok, so maybe some small experiments!
The result was a nice, efficient, comfortable 2 pass DFS. I love the razor. I have this one, and a closed comb version in my top 10 rack. I am going to shake the top 10 up a little, but the Merkurs get to stay. As for the soap, Arko is great. Some people don't like it- which is their right- but I love the stuff. Amazing lather. Awesome generic soapy smell. I have pressed mine into a mug to use in my preferred manner... but in my mind, it is the finest Turkish shave-stick with a red wrapper in the sub $3 price bracket. Hands down. The sandalwood AS was a gift from my girlfriend. It was surprisingly nice. I am finding that apparently, I really like sandalwood. Embarrassingly, it took me two weeks to works this into a rotation. I have a strong vintage bias, followed by a strong vintage style bias. ... the bottle is just so modern. Not in the cleanly designed, Nordic furniture sense. But rather, the horrible package that looks like a condiment sense. Finally, the blade. It worked. That is about all I can say. I will try it again. I was not rushing through the shave, but I also was not especially mindful. The blade was neither dull, nor sharp. It did not impress me, or anger me. It did what I asked of it. So... good, I guess? I will try to get started earlier tomorrow.

That's how I find out about my next soap/croap/cream/balm/pre-shaveoil/etc. I have never seen or heard of some of the soaps people come up with. Never seen a review, never seen them listed on any web site I buy from, etc. There's a whole world of shaving out there that still alludes me.

Have to be out of the house and on the road by 6AM to pickup my niece who is stranded in Baker City OR and be back in Town by 1PM. Roundtrip is 5 hr drive without stops and my niece is never on time for anything so I've allowed a 2 hour window for whatever curveballs my niece throws at me or mother nature as it has been raining the past couple of days. Have a great day gentleman and ladies out there.

Thanks Bruce. 13 shaves under the belt and I think this blade is another one I could get 20 shaves out of it but on Monday I have already decided to make the week an SE razor and blade week as I've neglected them nearly 3 months now.

youngunn Where's my TSD aftershave balm???

When I first started getting into wetshaving I saw these posts for daily shaves and thought it looked so exotic and unattainable, all these strange names of products and nicknames of stuff I didn't know.

Now it's all easy reading. Lol

Today I kept the menthol quite a bit down (because I'm gonna really let it rip tomorrow!) and I used a lovely cream from Brazil which has a great barbershop scent with lots of rich lather and a much milder cooling effect, which is still noticeable enough and pretty good skincare. These days I'm really enjoying my Lord Super DE - does it ever give awesome BBS results. The Booster Mosswood aftershave is a Canadian barbershop classic - it's one of my favourites. ;) :D

    Sune's day:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Deep Cleaning Gentle Scrub, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger
    Soap: Stirling Lime Coconut (sample)
    Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG, ATG (1, 2, 3)
Post: Cold water rinse, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock Cumba Cheech AS lotion
Cologne: Jasmin et Cigarette by Etat Libre d' Orange

Because I had a few days' growth, I decided to load up my most reliable blade, a Bic, rather than continuing to use the Baili that was in the 41c. After several days without shaving, I was hesitant to return to the Stirling sample, because of the trouble I'd had lathering Rod's products. I noticed, however, that a bit of the leftover foam from on top of the sample had been 'stewing' on the sample, so I figured I might as well use it before the whole thing evaporated. Imagine my surprise when it easily produced really good, stable lather - a first in my experience with the Stirling soaps! I caught one tiny weeper by the Adam's Apple on my first pass, but it was not bleeding by the time I lathered up for the third pass, and I definitely got BBS results. In deference to the citrus note in the Stirling, I chose the Cumba Cheech lotion and paired it with the Jasmin et Cigarette (which has an apricot note) to finish off a great return to the routine.
