Gave this 195 a quick try before I send it off to Nick at Sportshave for a rhodium replate. This razor is destined to be a Christmas present for my son. Decent, but not great shave.

today's shave was work. I prepped as normal. then used a straight for my first pass. one blood spot on my neck. then three passes with a new to me Gillette(z4 first year ssft). vintage blades came with the deal. thought of shotwell because of the color of the blade.
next was clean-up of the straight. it's a lot of work, much respect to you sr guys. tried to take pics of the brand and jibs( let me know if I'm using the right name for those). has anyone got any info on this razor?
finished up with shower and Halston. church today y'all come with me.

After an 8 day lapse in DE shaving due to travel and flying with only carry on luggage, I finally am able to resume normal activities. Boy did i miss this. Will certainly be putting together a travel kit and checking baggage from now on.

 

Even better
Today's shave with Latha was even better than yesterday. I added a bit more water and the lather was even easier to make and creamier. My SC101 is so mild and efficient, that I have no weepers or irritation. The Latha AS just works.

Early shave this morning but late SOTD posting!
I had an early start (4:00am) and pre-dawn shave with my new favorite** razor, the restored Wostenholm Pipe razor, with a big full hollow blade that sings loudly during the entire shave. Menthol-chill using the Stirling Cool, and a refreshing post-shave splash of the Fine. A Memorable shave, despite being half-awake….
