Hope you and @RaZorBurn123 and the other NorCal guys stay safe...that kind of wind is no joke. Go tie down your grill cover and patio stuff...hope it helps the reservoirs!
Chris, We're expecting 2-4" of rain in San Jose tomorrow, 6-8" in the Santa Cruz Mountains, 15mins from me. Winds 37mph..
Who the Heck knows, the weather up here for the last 2 weeks has been all over the place 6°F one day 50° the next Snow, Rain. Sunshine Mud Just totally messed up hehehehe
I've been watching the news this morning with the NorCal storm. It's making its way up the coast today and will be here around 2p they're saying. We're not calling it a storm, just weather.
I wouldn't call it a storm either - there. Then again, I'm sitting inside just listening to the rain beat against the window. With winds reaching 75 mph out at the coast it sure is a bit gusty around here today. Now..where's my coffee...
I was just outside for about 2mins and got soaked. Keep in mine we haven't seen rain like this in quite some time.
Let's hope for the best...heavy rains with little flooding, and only moderate wind! Sometimes storm like these can be very beneficial. Fill up those Cali reservoirs!
We need snow up in the mountains to do that. I understand they're getting 3'. Great news! Still doesn't makeup for 3 years of severe drought conditions, but it's a great start.
Chris, I had a flash flood warning on my cellphone not long ago. Holy Cow! I've never heard that before.
Epic drought...I was in Monterey and surrounding areas in late 2013, visiting a relative in the Navy. I drove in from the direction of LV, I was stunned by how dry the almond groves and similar areas were. The mountains near the coast looked absolutely parched. Hand painted road signs near Gilroy praying for rain were numerous. It was obvious to me there was big trouble. Garlic ice cream was an interesting detour on that journey...
