    Frugal Friday
The challenge today is to have the least expensive shave as possible. No matter the price, this was a great shave. I used the same Voskhod blade I've used all week and it is going strong. The brush is from a BST last year with a local gentleman, so there was no shipping.

    Prep: Kiehl's Face Wash $8
    Soap: WSP Rustic Barbershop $5.99
    Brush: HIS lather monster $20
Razor: Gillette New Long Comb $13
    Blade: Voskhod (5) 20 cents
AS: Aqua Velva Ice Sport $1.97

    Booster Mosswood AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :love055:

Man oh man, what a nice shave this was - it was my first time using this new Blueness stick I received a few days ago and I'm really impressed. The scent is so exotic - completely different than the soapy/clean type which you get from an Arko or other Turkish sticks, and the lather explodes from your brush. Skincare-wise, it's pretty good also. The Booster Mosswood is very barbershoppy-like in its scent and it's one of my favourite aftershaves, although SWMNBO (She Who Must NOT Be Obeyed!) ain't too crazy about it! ;) :D (Don't worry, I obey my wife in many other ways!)

Have a great weekend, folks! :)

    Thiers Issard 69 N° 275 Special Coiffeur 1937

Today's shave has been characterized by one of my favorite shaving soap ever - the magnificent P.160 - to me, unequaled shaving soap. The shave was nice also thanks to this lovely and super sharp Thiers Issard razor, as well as a brush I am very fond of: an old Omega 47, with aluminum handle, which was my father's and, after such a very long time, it is still doing an impeccable job. Glorious shave!
    • Pre-Shave: Myrsol Emulsión
    • Soap: Nuova Elberel P.160 Professional
    • Brush: My Father's Omega Bristle Brush 47
    • Bowl: Chinese Cheap Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Thiers Issard 69 N° 275 Special Coiffeur 1937, 6/8 Full Hollow, Round Point
    • Post-Shave: Umbria Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    • After Shave: Floïd Vigiroso Mentolado Aftershave

Coate’s Sandalwood today. 5 seconds: load & go with the ER brush. Quick, easy, great lather. Gillette Platinum still in the NEW SC. Smooth, close, nick free shave. I finished with Pino Silvestre.

Gillette NEW Short Comb! In case I have not mentioned it lately: “What a razor!!”

You're right, no knurling on the handle. But I didn't notice it getting slippery. I thought it would, but it didn't seem slippery at all. The coating seems to make it a little more grippy than, say, my smooth-handled EJ89.

Excellent shave this morning, actually, I didn't even really need a shave today, yesterdays was still close enough to get through most of today. Have a good one.

How is the Pino? I love Christmas tree scent (like fresh pine sap or blue spruce needles) and have been wondering about Pino Silvestre.

    Shave #6 - ATT S1

I paired the S1 with the Atlas handle today. I had come to realize hat I had never really used a shorter handle before. I quite enjoyed. Definitely easier to manuever. I also like the balance. 2 pass DFS today with touchups. The Cade seems to also get along with my WD Brush.

    Pre - CWS

    Razor - ATT Atlas S1

    Blade - Rapira PL

    Soap - Cade

    Brush - WD Silvertip 24x48mm

    Shave of the day

Pre- Hot shower, Bulldog Original Face wash & Face scrub

    Soap/cream- L'Occitane Cade shaving cream

    Brush- Omega boar 10810

    Razor- Gillette Slim adjustable(5)

    Blade- Astra superior platinum(2)

Post- Cold water rinse, alum block, Old spice Whitewater aftershave splash and Rituals samurai (Basil and tiger grass) aftershave balm

A very nice shave today! Comfortable and smooth.

I have had a sample of the L'occitane cade shaving cream for a long time without trying it out, but MAN it's good! Slick and protective.. Very nice cream.

Finished with Oldspice whitewater, this must be my favorite splash so far, love the smell.

The Rituals aftershave balm is nice, I think the tiger grass gives the balm a warming and soothing sensation. But I'm not sure if it's that or something else =)

Retired the blade a day early (normally get 3 shaves and out) one side seemed to be much duller than the other, yesterday was better but stlll one side duller. I thought it may smooth out today but no ! Anyway a different razor and new blade are set up for tomorrows shave. The blades are cheap enough.
