You are right Kevin; I am only making a dent in the razor drawer so far and I am really getting used to the DE mode. I am getting lazy in my old age!
I will have to throw in a straight shave every now and then.

Palmolive is good stuff. I add a drop of m-bomb, makes a very good shave.

True without a blade stropper Carbon Blades will ususally last 2 to 3 shaves at best then the performance really goes down hill.

This is getting ridiculous! The best shave of my life tonight, on a two pass WTG and ATG. This is BBS on a different level though, my skin feels like there has never been hair near it....kinda....rubbery. Couldn't tell the alum was near my face.

Today's shave was not so much. Got started early. Used vintage Williams soap, which is a lathering beast. So far so good. Decided to go with a nice mild Gillette Super Speed shave... thought I would continue sampling blades, so I selected a matching Gillette 7 o'clock blade. If this were an audio recording, this would be the spot to insert the cliche screaming sound effect. Yes, as you may now have assumed, the shave was not what I was hoping for. The blade, razor and myself did not seem to be a good match up. First pass went well. The blade was effective, if not quite as smooth as I like. Second pass, things got wacky. I nicked myself four times. I don't nick myself often, so four in one go is no good. The problem seemed to be that stubble kept building up under the blade, thus causing the blade to bite. Or at least that is what appeared to be happening when I checked the blade after each nip. Each of the four times, the gap between the blade and bar had a little clog. Maybe the clogs were causing me to put pressure on the blade to 'override' the interference?... again, I just don't know. Why it happened extensively on the second pass and not on the first, I also don't know. So basically, I question if the razor, me, or the blade deserve blame. The mitigating circumstances are that each of the nicks were tiny, three closed with a rinse and only one required Mr. Styptic to make an appearance. In any case, I will give the blade and the razor another chance. And I am pretty much stuck with being me... so, tomorrow is another day.
Final note, TSD Gunpowder scent is incredible. I cannot get over how unbelievably happy I am with these fragrance samples. Go buy some!

 

I have never seen a tub of shave cream that's so had up that it's almost all use up hahaha!! It's rare these days
