    Gillette NEW
    Feather Hi-Stainless
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Pinaud Vegetal

The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Semogue 1305 Boar Brush. Two passes with my Gillette NEW and Feather Hi-Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Pinaud Vegetal after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    • Prep: Hot shower; ; Nivea face wash; Corn Huskers Lotion
    • Cream: TOBS Sandalwood
    • Brush: Plisson Synthetic
    • Razor: 1960 Fatboy (6/2/1)
    • Blade: Personna Lab Blue (1)
    • Post: Crystal alum; Thayers WH; Dove Post Shave Balm
    • Cologne: D&G Light Blue
First go with the Fatboy and I understand why they go for a little more cash now. I had three days worth of stubble and the 6 did a pretty good job and chopping it down WTG, but the next time I have that much growth I'll set it at 8 for the chin. Where the Fatboy blew me away was with the 2nd and 3rd pass - scaling the setting down with passes. I pushed this shave and chased the baby and I caught that little guy. I admit to faceturbating afterwards. Tweaks are still needed but so far I am really happy I picked it up. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I decided last week to see if I could get the Soap Commander to actually smell more like Old Spice. So I scooped out most of the soap in the container and added about 1 ounce of a generic "Old Spice type" aftershave. I mixed the removed soap back in to the container. The container remained sealed for a week. Today I tried the soap again. Now it smells like Old Spice and not like Old Shea Stadium. It is good enough smelling now to use until the container runs out of soap.

    Satisfying--ish Saturday Shave...

I was pumped up for today's shave! I had some new products to try out courtesy of my Secret Santa (tip of the hat to you sir), as well as the cleaned up slim that I found in an antique store at a steal of a price.

The razor lacks some polishing to kick it up a notch, but it cleaned up better than I expected. The soap on the other hand had a great scent, but dissipated too quickly to enjoy a full shave experience. The aftershave milk is no joke, and I have to say "my compliments to the chef"...if you haven't tried this stuff, I say find a scent from the huge menu and add to cart! It gives you the best of both worlds. Its not simply splash nor a thick balm. I feel foolish for not getting some sooner.

Overall I managed to pull off a DFS, but it was a little more work than usual.

    Enjoy your Weekend Gents...

Mark, the Weber DLC might just be a tad less aggressive than the Ikon 102, but much smoother, in my opinion. It may even have the same level of aggressiveness, but to me, as I have mentioned, nothing is as smooth as the DLC.

I got my UFO handles a few years ago from Rafael, the artisan in Spain, when he first started making them. I believe the one you might be referring to is my Red Bronze one. I do have a Brass one, but it doesn't get photographed as often as I don't find it as photogenic as the latter one and my Graphite Black one. :)

Proraso Green AS :love055: :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

A great "el cheapo" shave this morning with an awesome cream which costs less than two bucks in some stores here in Montreal. The Gada Cool Mint smells minty and lemony and its lather is so easy to work up - in fact, just a dab of cream on both cheeks and you're good to go. Its menthol effect is also very, very pleasant and the camomile in it soothes and protects your skin against dryness and irritation. A couple of good splashes of Proraso Green aftershave ended this wonderful, fun-filled shave. ;) :D
