This is the first bottle of Captain's Choice aftershave I purchased and it is almost done. It may make it through tomorrow if I don't shave my head today. Recently my wife said she liked the way it smelled, I believe her exact words were, "You smell good. What is that?" Hmmm, might have to replace it in 2016...

Stirling Barbershop today. 40 seconds: load & go with the oscar11 brush. Great lather. I loaded a new ASCO Red in the Red Tip. Smooth, close, nick free shave. I finished with Fine American Blend.

Blade- Astra superior platinum

Post- Cold water rinse, alum block, Speick aftershave splash and Mentholated Nivea sensitive aftershave balm

An okey shave today. It wasn't bad but I used my L'Occitane soap and it has been a while, so the lather wasn't the best =P

I still got a comfortable shave though.

Very Basic Setup:

Razor: Maggard "Frankenrazor"
Blade: Astra SP
Brush: Omega 1520
Soap: Stirling Black Ice - licorice smell, very cold
AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush - damn this is cold!

My 4th shave with the Astra SP blade paired with what I'm calling my Maggard "Frankenrazor". With this very heavy old handle I found (it's solid, not hollow), the balance is very "handle oriented". I think this is contributing to very comfortable shaves. I actually find it difficult to exert any kind of pressure on the head because of the weight balance. Today was a shave with 2 days of growth and the result with this setup was an absolutely wonderful shave, one of my best. Cheeks, jaw line, trouble spots, chin are all nice and clean. And little or no feedback at all with the AS. I'm sure I'll be faceturbating all day!

2nd day in a row pictures taken with my camera all came out with bluish tinged to them. Going to have to do a web search for troubleshooting and hopefully find a simple solution for this issue such a re-calibration of some kind.
