1. Anyone tried this Norwegian shaving soap?
I'm curious to give it a try but at $20+ it's somewhat of an expensive gamble without knowing anything about it.

The company is "Bergums" and "Brutalt Bra" translates to "Brutally Good"
"Barbersape" is "Shaving soap", and "Handverk" is basically "hand made"

  3. I mean...granted, it's not Swedish but pretty close :)
  4. I saw it in a Swedish site =P I have no clue about it

  5. Found some more info on some Norwegian sites.
Each tin contains about 100gr of soap and this comment:
"Dette er å betrakte mer som en barberkrem enn en barbersåpe grunnet den myke konsistensen som er lett å arbeide med."
Meaning it is more like a cream than a hard soap. Maybe a croap?
    Smell: "Mild and clean"
Ingredients: All natural - and vegetarian (so not a tallow based soap). Not tested on animals, etc.
Some reviews here that does make the soap sound really good.

  7. I can understand some Norwegian - perhaps enough to get a basic idea, but not as much as a Dane or a Swede. I'd still need somebody to help translate for me.
  8. Swedish and Norwegian is like Spanish and English... Nothing alike =P

  9. Yeah but Norwegian is so easy. I've seen three year olds there speaking it :D
  10. Smells like lutefisk.

    Lathers like krumkake.

  11. You need more water if it lathers like krumkake, it should be more like dravle!
  12. Oh boy - you're right. Norwegian and Danish are closer. I know a Danish guy who tells me he almost automatically can speak Norwegian, but a Norwegian can read Danish but if he tries to understand it when it's spoken he has a lot of trouble.
  13. Many swedes understand Danish. I don't. And apparently Danish people understand swedish, I don't know why =P

  15. Being Danish, there's a comment I could make here, but won't - in the spirit of the season when we are all brothers.

  16. This reminds me of Romanian and Italian. These two languages are very closely related, however it's much easier for a Romanian to learn Italian than for an Italian to learn Romanian. They are both Latin-based languages.

  17. A friend of mine on another forum has been trying it out for a few days now and he says he likes it. I can ask for more info if you would like. :)

  18. That would be great!
    Things like;
    a) Is it a "croap" or cream?
    b) What does it smell like?
    c) Easy/hard to build lather?
    d) Would he buy it again?

    :)
