I'd like to remove the gold plate on my Hydro-Magic because the rarer nickel version looks so much better. Having it stripped is (I'm guessing) out of the question because the head is hard molded into the plastic handle. What would be the easiest way to abrade or chemically strip the gold away while doing as little damage as possible to the nickel underneath as well as the plastic?
I pass on this question. You would need to discuss that with a plating expert. I would suggest you keep seeking for a nickel version.
Is there nickel under the gold? I'm pretty sure it's just brass under the gold on mine and the gold comes off pretty easy. A bunch of the gold on mine is gone just from normal use.
