Whats the deal with the Molly Resin coating on the center Star razor from page one of this thread. With the silver head it kind of looks like a Franken-Star. Is this legit or one of your custom builds?
It is a brass Star that a TSD member modified for me several years ago as an experiment. It is a show stopper.
Scrubbing Bubbles and, since I'm keeping it, a light brushing with a brass brush. The top is starting to show the red brass. The SC is next in line after my current Maggard "Frankenrazor". The handle on my "Frankenrazor" was included in a box of razors I picked up at an estate sale. It's very heavy and it's solid below the neck where the threads are. It's even heavier than my DE89 handle! Shaves great though. It was originally a bluish-steel color. Chris at RazorPlate thinks it may have been very old chrome. I used the brass brush on this one also, but with alot of elbow grease, to get it to this point.
Bought this mainly because it had a case. Secondly, the date code wasn't listed and hoped it would be a birth year/quarter U2 (it's a T2 - so close!) Lastly, I wanted to try to clean one up. Before: After: It has some plate loss on the doors but it shined up pretty nice. Most of it was just soap scum.
