Wade & Butcher Bow Razor, 9/16 Full Hollow, Spike Point

Wade & Butcher. The old and very dear Wade & Butcher. Despite its age, this razor still proves to give a superior performance and an excellent shave. I am also liking PannaCrema Nostalgia Shaving Soap very much, a very good Italian soap, not to mention its smell - vaguely recalling my beloved Bay Rum - to which I added a generous splash of Myrsol Agua De Limon. Very refreshing!
    • Pre-Shave: Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort Pre-Shave Oil
    • Soap: PannaCrema Nostalgia Shaving Soap
    • Brush: Wilkinson Bristle Brush
    • Bowl: Gerby Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Wade & Butcher Bow Razor, 9/16 Full Hollow, Spike Point
    • Post-Shave: Umbrian Extra Virgin Oil
    • After Shave: Myrsol Agua De Limón Aftershave

    today's shave
hot water wash with nivea men's
    sparky's alpha omega
    latoja shave stick
    Gillette new short comb
    voskhod Teflon coated(1)
    iced Skin Bracer
today's shave went well. I like the scent of Latoja. sparky makes a nice brush, cudos. I used a combination of the new and a voskhod, at the recommendation of bowler Mike. he's right, it was a very nice pairing.(better than my favorite labs) thanks Mike. three passes for a smoother, more comfy shave.( just as close, but smoother). finished with iced Bracer.
hope y'all did as well, or better.

    Proraso Preshave applied in shower
    VDH Badger
    Stirling Arctic Tundra
Merkur 34C with Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless
Cold splash, witch hazel, Lab Series balm, TSD AS Milk
    W, X, A, touch ups

Belated Merry Christmas, everyone! I haven't been on for a while.

The Sterling was a gift. The lather was anemic. (Could be my fault. I still have trouble with soaps.) Even so, the shave was close to decent, with a few nicks, both of which are average for me. The cold factor was less than I get with C. O. Bigelow. I'm going to give it a few more tries, and I'm open to advice, either for soap lathering in general, or for this specific soap.

I also received Stirling Witch Hazel with Aloe and Wintergreen. Love it!

Couldn't take a picture, but today I had a great shaving with:

    - ATT M2 with UFO Titan Fine handle
    - fresh Polsilver Super Iridium
    - Thater 4125/2 two band
    - MWF
    - Thayer's Witch Hazel
    - Home made AS splash

The Thater 4125/2 two band is becoming one my favorite brushes. It may not have the class and aesthetics of my Simpson's Chubby 2, but man it is consistent. When rotating among 10+ soaps, a less dense and more consistent brush is what I look for.

    Gem Damaskeene single edge
    CVS blade
    french soap mix

A couple of weeks ago I switched from using shave secret to my home made pre-shave oil. The result has been dramatic. I am consistently getting great shaves with no irritation. Try making your own, it is well worth it.

Belated Merry Christmas! Stirling is one of the few soaps I always struggle in getting good, consistent, and most importantly, lasting lather. I've been through about a half-dozen pucks and have decided to mainly use the Stirling in conjunction with other soaps or creams. I enjoy the fragrance and menthol of many of the Stirling soaps, so when combined with a Cade or decent cream, the lather is good. Others here don't seem to have the same issue with the Stirling, but whenever I see a soap maker produce a video demonstrating how to get good lather with a puck, I'm led to believe I'm not the only one having some difficulty.

    Superb Shave
A big thanks to my friend JR, who gave me a sample of Cold River Soap Works excellent soaps. Today I chose Citrus and I was not disappointed. The scent is strong and inviting, but the real story is in the performance. I mashed the generous sample down into an empty tin and doused it with water while I brushed my teeth. My HIS brush lost no time in whipping up great yogurty lather and building it up on my face. My Aristocrat made smooth and easy work of my stubble - so smooth that I questioned my angle a couple times. After the last pass, my face feels great. This soap rivals the best available in protection and post shave feel. I finished with Shea Moisture Elixir, my only citrusy aftershave. I'm going to have to get a full tin of this soap at some point!

    Prep: Kiehl's Face wash
    Soap: CRSW Citrus
    Brush: HIS
    Razor: Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade: Astra SP (3)
    AS: Shea Moisture Elixir
