Nah, it's an old running joke amongst some of us shavers. Give it a try and let us know what you think.

My after Christmas Day but before New Years Day Haul ...

These items were purchased from David @ razorbladesandmore.com

    • Semogue 830 Pure Bristle Shaving Brush
    • Matador "El Gordo Negro" Close Comb Double Edge Shaving Razor
    • Matador Zagara Artisan Shaving Soap 125ml
Along with a few DE packs free gratis ... thanks David.

The Gillette Tin was found at a local Antique Mall.

The Preferred Fragrances were purchased locally at a discount store. These "knockoff" fragrances have the essential oils made in the UK and the product completed in China.

I have used and really enjoy the Akthar Noir which is Preferred Fragrances impression of Drakkar Noir.

The Stallion, New York Nite, and Red Active which are Preferred Fragrances impressions of Stetson, Bleu de Channel, and Ralph Lauren's Polo Red respectively are fragrances in their line I have not tried so it will be interesting to see whether I like these or not. I have Stetson so it will also be interesting to see how close Stallion matches to Stetson.

Thank you, Gary! After a couple of shaves, I've pretty much dialed in the correct angle, and I'm finding it to be an extremely effective shaver.

What blades are you using in it?

The Feather Pro so far, haven't tried the Feather Pro Super or the Kai Milds in it, only on the Kai shavette.

Let us know what you think. Which blade will you use first? I use the Feather Supers and they're...Super.

I've only shaved a couple of times, with a Feather Pro. I'm still perfecting the ideal angle, but so far I've found it a very effective razor. The Super will be even more effective, I assume.

The razor is a bit finicky with the angle. The Super blade makes it less finicky IMO.

But man, doesn't the mongoose head look awesome on a UFO handle?

It does, I have a Goliath to use with it, but so far I've been using the Dub Slim, to properly try it out.

I'll have to try it with a Super then.
