    Mystic Water shave soap
    Vie Long hoarse hair brush
1947 Gillette Super Speed (birth year razor)
    Personna Lab blade
    Halston Z-14 AS

Two pass no touch up shave this AM. Very close shave.

After a less than stellar shave yesterday...going back to setting four and just gonna focus on blade angle today. Definitely struggling while learning the Slim, but TSD lanolin sticks are a true joy! Today I finished with Skin Bracer - a Great Cheap AS™.

How do you like the "One X" soap? How's the menthol "chill"? I'm thinking of adding something to my soap rotation and that one has caught my eye. Thanks!

    Razor: Gillette Old Type
    Blade: Astra SP
    Brush: Semogue 1520
    Soap: Proraso Green
    AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush
    :Animatedfrozensmily::Animatedfrozensmily::Animatedfrozensmily::signs021:

Second meaningful shave with my Old Type. I am impressed how close this razor gets, but it does take a bit of "technique" or you can get into trouble. I've found it's very easy to get overly aggressive (read "cocky") with this light razor, which leads to problems. Today's shave was very close, but there was quite a bit of sting from my AS. Gonna have to go easier and not rush tomorrow. On to shave #3!

Hot Shower and Prep - Nivea Men Sensitive Skin Face Wash, & Wm. Neumann & Co. Peppermint Leaf Bar Soap
    Razor Merkur 34c
    Blade Astra SP (5)
    Brush - Plisson Synthetic
    Lather - Poraso Green
Post - Warm & cool water rinse, WH & RazoRock "Problem Solver" Lime scented AS splash

Decent two pass, NS- SN then touch ups ATG in the trouble spots around chin and jaw line. Giving the blade one more day, will most likely go with a 3 pass tomorrow. I still haven't found the magic for my neck.

I'm skimping on the menthol this time because it's going to be another brutally-cold day here in Montreal and also because I want to enjoy a nice Brazilian barbershop-style shave with the Palmindaya cream. This stuff is used in barbershops in Brazil and it has a great traditional, old-school scent which I really love. The lather is very rich and easy to get going so multi-passes are no problem and the skincare is decent as well. If you're in to old barbershop aftershaves the Polar Ice is hard not to love, and it's very soothing and toning. ;) :D

    Two-Pass Tuesday...

So I told myself that I'm not allowed to lather up any of my soaps until I work my way through all of the samples that I'm stockpiling...lol.

This evening I broke out the Cattie's Bubbles Orange Grove (tip of the hat to Phil "the enabler"). I had no trouble at all generating a lather bowl full of lather goodness. This stuff hits high marks on slickness, protection, and scent. It does smell more like a colonge type scent rather than citrus.

I dialed down the executive to a 3, and enjoyed two super smooth passes. This is my 3rd shave on the Rapira Swedish, and I have to give props to the smoothness of the blade...very nice.

I finished with some Al Fin, which I heard now has a matching soap from PAA, but when I looked at their website, the 8oz. Tin are sold out. The smaller 3.5 oz tins are available, but I was able to resist.

    Have a good one gents...

    Wild Cherry STB
    Schick Eversharp Eversharp I2
    Personna Injector
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Lemon WH
    Aqua Velva

The Proraso Green Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Wild Cherry STB Brush. Two passes with my Schick Eversharp I2 and Personna Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This is the fifth day of my 30-day adventure to improve my shaving skills using the Mongoose. Pre-shave consisted of a warm shower and a face wash with Cetaphil. Post-shave included Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel and Nivea Sensitive AS balm. This was the second shave on the Feather blade, and it felt smoother today. I had only one small weeper near the corner of my mouth (a sensitive area for me), but otherwise my two-pass shave was close and comfortable.

Here's a photo of my humble brush collection and my Mongoose with the Dr. Bomber and Big Bomber handles. I'm using the Kent BK4 brush and Dr. Bomber handle on the Mongoose during this adventure.

    Evening Shave for Tomorrow

A comfortable 3-pass shave with the old reliable Herskovitz 6/8.
The Stirling 'Cool' is an interesting soap to lather as it has biting menthol chill, but also a fairly strong eucalyptus scent to it.
Too much of the COOL on the face and the soap lather scent began to remind me of those nasty menthol rubs I had applied to me years ago in training rooms. :signs131:
Usually I cut the Stirling with Cade to temper the scent. Overall, however, the lather provided good glide for the duration of the shaving passes.

    Have a great HumpDay, all!
