I got inspired by the grab box experience that I started to search for vintage razor lots on "e"vil-bay, and I actually won an auction. So I have 9 new razors heading my way. It's a mix of some SE's and a couple DE's as well. I will be sure to post some Pictures when they arrive. I tossed out a low bid, but still took home the victory. I blame you @Darkbulb ... see what you made me do...lol
That's great - lots can be a lot (pun intended) of fun! I think we all expect to see pre- and post cleaning photos Are you thinking you might GrabBox some of the razors if you don't like them?
I am watching, well not that actively, seven auctions ending in the next 2-3 days. So far I am inclined to bid on five of them but as we all know 2-3 days in eBay time is an eternity as the 'real' bidders don't emerge until the last 15 seconds of the auction.
It will be my first time winning a whole "lot" of razors. So pre and post cleaning pictures will be a must. I'm debating on doing a grab box Idea or maybe just a couple razor tour boxes. We will see how good they look when they arrive.
I just saw Tiki Tallow on Etsy for $7 bucks. It is listed under the scratch and dent sale, but for the price, it's a great way to try this top performer. Good luck.
Well thanks to Bobcat's Hot Tip I'm patiently waiting on 100 Rapira Platinum Lux blades. What a great deal. Looking forward to trying the Rapira Blades.
Since I didn't get any shaving bling for Christmas (and I have been good), I'm waiting for TOBS Jermyn Cream and AS as well as D.R. Harris Windsor Soap and AS. Had samples before and looking forward to the whole enchilada...
Bought an old, vintage Ricksecker shaving stick tin for $10. Some trivia about Ricksecker: The Ricksecker family established themselves in Dover, Ohio. Theodore Ricksecker eventually became a resident of Brooklyn, and a druggist in New York City in the mid-1800s. He is credited to have been the first American to establish a perfumery company, launching his first fragrance in 1868. Over the decades, he became renowned for his rich spice and floral fragrances in perfumes and colognes. Their products were sold up until the 1920's.
Waiting for this (Super Speed 1974)... Semogue 1520... And some soap... I'm digging this thread! I'm afraid I may start speeding more money on shaving products, though!
Got an email from Rudy on my brush. It's ready ! 26 mm Shavemac knot with the loft set at 52mm. Can't wait to get it.
