This is one of the 7 new razors that I picked up in my recent razor lot haul. I believe it's a fat handle tech? Either way, the plating on this thing is in great shape and has that nice mirror finish. I loaded it up with an Astra, and the blade just wasn't as smooth as the Rapira's that I've been using lately. I was puzzled....perhaps it was a dud. The lather was produced created from a soap sample that I received from one of my favorite artisans. I believe he has re-named it on his site already, but this one is called Poseidon. The scent is very fresh, and clean, with some nautical elements to it. Very robust and just filled the bathroom when I lathered it up. Other than the blade, it was still a good shave.

    Have a good one gents.

I'm a huge fan of the C.O.Bigelow (Proraso Green) Shaving cream. So, much so I'm considering getting rid of some stuff and only using the Proraso set up and Arko. I'd like to alternate with a all Proraso set up and then every other day use my trusty Arko followed by the other after shaves I have(Pinaud Clubman, Lilac Vegetal, Masters Bay Rum, Brut, Brut Dominant, Green Goddess-which is a 50/50 mix of Osage Rub and Mennen Skin Bracer, and my own mix I call DentonMajik). How do you like the pre/post balm and aftershave splash? I usually use a mix of Noxema with tea-tree and peppermint essential oils in place of Proraso's pre/post balm. I'm thinking of buying the proraso pre/post to just compare with my own concoction. I use my homemade mix because I'm not a big fan of the price tag. I'd really like to try the aftershave splash also.

Oh man...you have no idea!! I hit a solid unit filled with good razors. I'm going to reveal them one a day over the next week. Only one DE, the rest are SE. I can't wait to use them. It's your fault. My SE razor count just blew up thanks to the grab box. Stay tuned...

Oh wow I can't wait to see them being revealed! Happy you got a good lot - they're a bit of a hit and miss.

You could create a special 'Lot-thread' so they're all in one place so we can drool at them all :D

    Easy effective lather
I used WSP Rustic Barbershop soap today to compare with Maggard's version. I love both for different reasons. The scent of MLB is amazing and strong, while WSP lathers very easily and provides slightly better performance with a more subtle scent. I would be happy with either of these as my only soap. Maggard's aftershave is an excellent product - it leaves my face feeling comfortable, moisturized and feeling great.

    Prep: Shea Moisture Scrub
    Soap: WSP Rustic Barbershop
    Brush: HIS lather monster
    Razor: Der Vorschlaghammer
    Blade: Astra SP (2)
    AS: Maggard's London Barbershop

It was a rough shave, the end result was pretty good. I am not sure if it is the new blade I popped in or if my lather was wonky today.

The Proraso splash is really nice, it was $9.99 which is a good price. Cold, good toner, perfect match with the soap.
