    Nivea Men's Face Wash
    Tabac
    Wild Cherry PTS
    Schick M2 Adjustable
    Personna Injector
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    FD Old Spice AS

    The Tabac Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Wild Cherry PTS Brush. Two passes with my Schick M2 Adjustable and Personna Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Family Dollar Old Spice after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    PLANNED SOTD FOR SATURDAY, JANUARY 10th

    Razor: 1958 (D4) "Black Handle Super Fat Boy"
    Blade
    : SuperMax Platinum (new to me)
    Brush: Semogue 1520
    Soap: Proraso Green
    AS: Barbasol Pacific Rush

    OK, gents take a gander at this one! I had my tired, old, reliable 1958 fat boy custom replated (all rhodium - white and black). Chris Evatt at Razor Plate has done an amazing job on the replate and Cap'n Murphy has made sure the mechanics are "spot on". The mechanism is smooth as silk and the razor, IMHO, looks amazing. Although I've used this razor before, I've been anticipating this shave for about 2 months.

    SOTD January 9, 2015

    This is the eighth day of my 30-day adventure to improve my shaving skills using the Mongoose. Preshave consisted of a facewash with Stirling Sheep soap and warm water. I used my Kent BK4 brush and face lathered using a Mike's Natural Soap shave stick. Mike's is one of my favorite soaps, as it has great slickness and skin conditioning. I was short on time this morning and forgot to use glycerin. It made no discernible difference. I like my larger Kent BK8 for daily use. I usually reserve the BK4 for travel, since it is smaller, but I'm sticking with it for the duration of this adventure.

    I shaved WTG followed by XTG on my face and XTG/ATG for both passes on my neck. The Feather blade on day five performed well and should easily last a week or more. I finished up with Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel and unrefined shea butter.

    All was good on my two-pass plus touch-up shave - no nicks or irritation! I would be satisfied to stick with this set up indefinitely. I will have more time tomorrow morning, so I'm planning my first three-pass shave of the week. I've found that my skin can tolerate an occasional three-passer.

    Have a great weekend, everyone. :happy088:

    The plating choice is really cool! The choice of having the Captain work his magic was genius. :happy088:

    Evening Shave For Tomorrow

    Third shave with the Valobra cream—weak on the menthol, but tops on performance. I'm liking this soap. I add a bit of TSD M-Bomb to it just to kick up the chill.
    Excellent 3-pass shave, again, from the Wostenholm. :)

    Have a great Saturday, everyone!

    Makes a very cool looking variant to the standard Fat Boy. Well done! :happy088:

    Razor =DE89
    Blade = Gillette Silver Blue
    Lather = Proraso White
    Brush = Red Omega 48
    Post = Shea Moisture Tea Tree Aftershave

    Well finally figured out I was using too much water. Anyways I was pleasantly surprised as last time I used the SBs I got terrible shave. I also might be a Menthol junky in the making as I need more than this soap provides.

    Saturday! Day #9 of the 30 day BSG challenge
    • Music: Philip Glass, The Hours
    • Prep: hot washing cloth
    • Brush: TGN a grade silvertip badger in Oscar11 handle
    • Soap: Cella
    • Razor: birth quarter Gillette Slim (@ 4, 5, 6 & 7)
    • Blade: Derby #6
    • Shave: 3-pass + touch-up
    • Post: cold water rinse, Floyd AS balm
    Today the lather was a bit thin. I had lots of it so I put on a thick layer. Between pass 2 & 3 I paused to help SWMBO leave. The street was so full the car in front was at 1/2 foot distance and the one behind at 1 foot. The shave was nice, but the blade is at its end.

    Have a great weekend. ya'll! Make it count!

    Very comfortable shave today. The grapefruit smells really nice and performed good for me.

    I bloomed the soap prior to the shave, so the whole bathroom smelled really nice. I loaded the brush a bit much, but I rather load more than necessary than find myself needing more lather on my clean up pass.

    Once again Stirling soap doesn't fail me =D
