This is the ninth day of my 30-day adventure to improve my shaving skills using the Mongoose. Preshave consisted of a warm shower using Cetaphil face wash. I used my Kent BK4 brush and face lathered using Mike's Natural Soap and a few drops of glycerin.

The Feather blade (considered by some to be a Gem of a blade) on day six easily mowed through my stubble. This was the week's first three-pass plus touch-up shave - no nicks or irritation! All but the most discriminating babies would be jealous of my smooth skin! I finished with Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel, unrefined shea butter, and a splash of Clubman.

It's Saturday! Gotta go...the cartoons will be on soon! :happy093:

Thanks Mark! :) The pic in the background is my Great Aunt and Grandmother; circa 1904 St. Louis Worlds Fair. I thought it went well with the Tech. :happy088:

These are what I use for the Taconic soaps. Air tight lids and they are the right size.

    TOBS Lavender
    Wild Cherry STB
    Schick M2 Adjustable
    Personna Injector
    CWR, Asma Alum Block
    Thayers Rose Petal WH
    FD Old Spice AS

The TOBS Lavender face-lathered well with my Wild Cherry STB Brush. Two passes with my Schick M2 Adjustable and Personna Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Rose Petal WH and then Family Dollar Old Spice after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Evening Shave for Tomorrow
A somewhat 'tuggy' shave tonight—it could be time for 'freshening up' of this Rodger's edge. As with last night's shave, the addition of the TSD M-Bomb to the Valobra is a wonderful combination.
The lather goes on generously and thickly, with a cool tingle. Overall, despite some tuggy areas, a certifiable DFS! :happy088:

    Have a blessed Sunday, everyone!

Today's Great Cheap AS™ is AV Classic Ice Blue

Day 8 was a bit of a disappointment...day 9 offers another chance at a great shave! Still love the soap, still trying to love the the blades...But I love AV Classic, so does Mrs. Samurai...it's inexpensive, ubiquitous and still your great uncle's favorite...that makes it Great Cheap AS™!

Check out the 30 Day Crew as we write about our month of focus on razor technique and share our experiences throughout January. Read about it here:
