On the left (Proraso red container) is what happens when your 4 year old dumps water onto your Tabac puck and closes the lid without you realizing until days later. Tabac soup.

On the right is what I do when that happens. New Tabac with the ceramic jar.

Just empty out the water and leave the jar lid off for a while. It should dry out and work just fine. :) Or if you don't want to do that you can just send the puck to me, I've never tried Tabac yet..:D

Great choice in remedying the situation! You can never have too many soaps! :lyrtuy5:

I left it out for a few days and the consistency stayed the same. I don't know how well it would ship. It is really runny. I suppose I could put electrical tape around where the lid meets the container.

Or I can sell it in the classifieds listed as "Limited Edition Tabac Shaving Cream" and charge a premium price ;)

Tabac seems to be especially susceptible to sucking in water. It tends to turn into that goopy stuff when the puck gets close to finished. It still shaves well though.

No harm in getting a new puck nonetheless:eatdrink047: That ceramic Tabac dish is nice too, congrats.

Did you get the traditional slanted print Tabac logo, or is your dish from the new formulation straight print logo?

I bet it would still lather well.

Nice. You can call it the pre-reformulation collector's edition:eatdrink013: I have the same version and prefer it over the new 2014 model, not that the new one looks bad.

Keep it and use it. You can make a dry lather with the new one and use the wet one for dilution

I bet that well-hydrated Tabac still works great. I have a puck that I keep in a Ziploc bowl and the left over moisture gets sealed in there after I use it. After some time it makes the puck nice and soft so it's really easy to load the brush. I think most hard soaps like to have some extra water in them.

I tried microwaving it for 15 seconds and it actually worked. It hardened back up and works great. So, the new one will have to wait.

Just got the ceramic jar of tabac myself. Haven't used it yet but I test lathered it an WOW! Probably the thickest lather I've ever made.
