  2. The J.L. Petree brush was a special edition that Bullgoose Shaving had back couple of years ago and no longer in production. If I remember right he sold them in horsehair, mixed hair, 2 and 3 band badger. I also have the Petree in 2 band and really like it.

Yesterday wasn't a very good day. No energy at all, so no post. I did shave, however. So, on to that:

Yesterday and today I concentrated on stretching at the throat (more precisely: not overstretching). Usually I stick my chin up and pull the skin down at the collarbones. Yesterday and today I refrained from pulling the skin down. That resulted in less irritation. Yeey! Two great shaves.

    Have a nice day, ya'll!

  10. I've got a ball end tech just like that (1957). Do you find the handle VERY slippery?

Nice shave today. Glace Herbe (vetiver and menthol) is right in my wheelhouse. I really like this soap. Have a good one.

  13. You & me, both!
It obviously doesn't appeal to all noses. Perhaps just to those with ultra-refined olfactory sensibilities....:D
If one reads online forums when asked 'what does MdC fougére smell like?' you'll see a broad range of responses. Many positive, but some are quite harsh.
Almost 'Veg-like' in their disdain for the scent.
  14. Razor burn?:happy069:

  17. One of the secrets to MWF is to use it more often. The more hydrated the puck, the easier it is. If you come at a dry puck, one that has not got any internal moisture(throwing water on top of the puck for a few minutes prior to a shave doesn't count), you will have a more difficult time. If you set the puck aside for a few ays and it dries out a bit, it's harder to get a good lather. Not impossible, just harder, and more work.
I use a different soap every day, so with MWF I plan the shave a day ahead, throw some water on the puck the day before and cap it, and let it soak until the next day's shave.
Gobs of rich, slick lather on tap.
