youngunn Where's my TSD aftershave balm???

For shave number 6, I had to use a DE razor. Not enough time for prep and attention.

Brush - Rubberset 400 with WSP HMW
    Lather - Soap Commander Confidence
Post - Witch Hazel and CC Bay Rum AS

Very nice 3 pass shave this morning. Again not a BBS but as close as I have time for on a work morning. As usual the Soap Commander was easy to lather and the Bay Rum provided a nice finish.

Mid point of the Jan 30 day rule. Chasing bbs but settle for dfs. I succeed. 3 light passes plus touch up/buffing on the jaw line.
Merkur progress treating me right. Merkur travel came in the mail yesterday. Try to stay true to the 30 commitment!

Must say the Bigelow cream gave me the best lather by adding a touch more water.

01/16 – Day 16 of the 30 Day Rule - Shave #13 with the Weishi

Objective: Survive a month using low end entry level products.
    • Growth: 2 days
    • Prep: Hot Rinse; Corn Huskers Lotion
    • Lather: Arko – Face lathered
    • Brush: Escali Badger
    • Razor: Weishi 9306/Microtouch One
    • Blade: Derby Extra (1)
    • Post: Alum; Dove Men’s Sensitive AS Balm
Today’s Results: Used a new blade today and it left me with some mild irritation on my neck. I picked up my order of 110 Voshkod today and can’t wait to give them an extended trial after this is over.

Edit: Oh, and have a great weekend everyone!

Day 14 - Thirty Days with Merkur 34c (Jan 1-Feb 4 [No shave on Saturdays]) BSG 1-16-2015

    Another Great Shave

Hot Shower and Prep - Nivea Men Sensitive Skin Face Wash, & Wm. Neumann & Co. Peppermint Leaf Bar Soap
    Razor Merkur 34c
    Blade Astra SP (2)
    Brush - Plisson Synthetic
    Lather - Poraso Green
Post - Warm water rinse, Alum, wait 30 seconds then cool water rinse, Neutrogena Razor Defense Post Shave Lotion

Two Passes WTG & ATG plus a few touch ups. Achieved a great shave.

This was my second day using Alum. I assumed it was going to seem gritty but actually feels very smooth and clean.

I'm halfway into my 30-day adventure to improve my shaving skills using the Mongoose. Preshave consisted of a warm shower and face wash using Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. I used my Kent BK4 brush and face lathered using MWF and a few drops of glycerin. I think the BK4 is a bit small for a daily brush, but it makes a great travel brush. After the adventure, I'm going to put my new Rudy Vey two-band silvertip into daily service.

This was the fifth shave on the Feather Pro blade on a three-pass shave. This blade would be fine for ten shaves, but I'm changing it after seven to stay consistent during the adventure. It was a pretty good shave, but I hurried a bit and had some minor irritation. I know better, but I need an occaisonal reminder! I finished with Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel and unrefined shea butter.

I hope everyone had a blessed day! I look forward to a fun weekend with my Bride, some good friends, mild weather, and a couple of nice shaves!

But great success never comes without the risk of great failure. Everyday is a new shave!!

So I got a my new slim cleaned up yesterday, and the temptation to use it was too great. So today with the slim I did 1 WTG on 3, and an ATG on 1. This was an amazing shave. So now I'm not really sure what to do, 15 more days with the tech, or try 30 with the slim. I'm going to use the tech again tomorrow morning for sure but after that I'm less sure. I really like the slim.

    Edit:
    K-3 Slim after clean-up.

I know the feeling of temptation. Picked up this old style at an antique shop today and can't wait to try it with my merkur blades. I'm still a swimmer and did shave my fore arms to see the results. Excited what it can do for my fave. It cannot make my looks much worse! [IMG]

    day 19 shave.jpg
This is my Friday night shave, day 19. The chin shaving is getting better, with one small weeper, possibly from an ingrown hair. (same location 3 days running, and much better technique. The face feels great, and SWMBO is really liking the smoothness and the smell. She states she really likes menthol/ eucalyptus/witch hazel/maca root in combination. Who am I to argue??? She isn't so sure about the missing goatee, however. I'm waiting for a week. Then the final verdict from her.

Ready for College Football to start again and it's only the first weekend without it. I love weekend shaves since I have more time and don't feel as rushed. Today's shave might be the best I've ever had with a 3 pass shave and touch up No nicks, weepers or irritation at all.

Day 14 Lab Report - 30 Day Rule with a Slim BSG

Day 14 with the Slim set on 8 was a success. The key to this razor seems to be either really sharp blades or open it up. The first pass was a true NS and was almost good enough to stop.

On another note...my brush just needed a good cleaning.

This shave was so good 12 hours after the fact that I am simply going to repeat it for Day 15. Life has been a little busy lately for me, but should be calmer now. I hope everyone is shaving well! Happy Saturday!

We could make a calendar just from the last 2 weeks worth of pics in this thread! Looking great guys.

    I'm enjoying my shaves .

Still using the same daily setup:
22mm Synthetic from TGN set into a EverReady.
Long comb New with a modified Muhle handle.
    Aqua Velva Aftershave.

The only thing that has changed as of this morning: I finished off the RazoRock Muguet de France that I had been using, so now I am onto MdC Fougere:eatdrink047:
