The same thing happened with this Glacial Wintergreen puck as with my Glacial Lavender one - it needed to sit out uncovered for a few days because the first time I used it, I had some trouble getting it to lather properly but now it works perfectly. This soap has the best of everything - scent, lather, a menthol sensation that can freeze a penguin to death as well as top post-shave care. Two passes got me really BBS and the 444 balm added to the icicles. The Rubby Dubby Doo completed the freezing perfectly. This shave was most pleasurable. ;) :D

    Sunday:

Prep: Hot shower, Neutrogena Invigorating cleanser, TSD Jasmine Sambac Preshave balm
    Soap: RazoRock Cumba Cheech
    Brush: Simpsons 56 Best Badger
Razor: Merkur 41c 1904 OC Nickel
    Blade: Bic Chrome Platinum (1)
    Passes: WTG, XTG (1, 2)
Post: Cold water splash, Bloc Osma Alum, Dickinson's WH, RazoRock Cumba Cheech AS lotion
Cologne: Le 3e Homme de Caron by Caron

I may be nearing the end of the Cumba Cheech in my rotation, as I can just about make out the bottom of the container. For some reason - probably to do with water ratio - the lather went on extra thick today, making for a very slick shave but causing a little more work to be needed to rinse off my face afterwards. As expected, the Bic was extremely sharp and smooth, but I stopped at 2 passes on its maiden voyage. The AS lotion left me feeling very well moisturized, so much that I had to wipe away some excess.

Mastro Livi RWL34, 9/8 Full Hollow, French Point

This straight razor is one of my favorite ones. It gives a deep and perfect shave, something very common in Mastro Livi straight razors, of course. This RWL-34 blade however has something special and, in particular, I love its French point, very effective, especially in shaving particular areas of the face. Just a pass on Mastro Livi loom strop, then hand palm, and I am ready to enjoy a luxury shave. I must also admit I like this Frank Shaving Pur-tech brush very much: although it has a synthetic loft, it is very soft and pleasing to use, very effective in mounting lather.
    • Pre-Shave: Myrsol Emulsión
    • Soap: Cella Shaving Soap
    • Brush: Frank Shaving High Quality Pur-Tech - 24mm Knot
    • Bowl: Gerby Bowl
    • Strop: Mastro Livi Loom Strop and Hand Palm
    • Razor: Mastro Livi RWL34, 9/8 Full Hollow, French Point
    • Post-Shave: Argan Oil
    • After Shave: Myrsol F./Extra

Another totally amazing shave today with L'Occitane Cade. This time I threw in a little TOBS Rose and some TOBS Lavender for a very floral lather. 3 passes and extremely smooth. My face feels great.

A very good shave today, everything worked well. Krampert's Finest Frostbite is my favorite menthol aftershave. Such great skincare under all that cold.

    gorgo2 geezerhood

Three day shave and 3 month haircut.

    ∙Gem Heavy Flat Top
    ∙Pal carbon blade
    ∙TSD soap (almost gone)

3 pass BBS, but a bit of harshness and weepage toward the end required some homemade mix (blue menthol rub+witch hazel) followed a few minutes later by Lucky Tiger lotion. Now all is well.

Gave myself a Wahl trimmer haircut over the toilet. Used the 3/4" attachment so it should last awhile. The Wife eyeballed the back hairline for even-ness and shaved my neck with the G-bar. Now I'm all squared away and saved at least $15 over going to get a haircut.

What a set up. MWF lather exploded on me and with the combination of razor and blade made for the most comfortable and closest shave to date. I didn't chase the baby, the baby found me.

    Sunday:
hot shower w/TOBS Sandalwood bar soap
Edwin Jagger Hydrating PreShave Lotion and Homemade PSO
    Gillette Aristocrat 2 passes
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum Black (4)
    Long handled boar
Edwin Jagger Sandalwood cream in a warm bowl
    Thayers unscented w/aloe
    Edwin Jagger AS lotion
    Sante Homme AS

Didn't feel like getting up early today so I had to do a quick shave or be late. 2 passes was good enough to get me out the door and I'll have enough stubble to shave again tomorrow.
Pulled out some old samples that need to be used up before they dry up completely and as it was I had to supplement a bit.

Nice shave this morning but I feel this blade has a little more to offer so a tweak will be in order. My shaves have been so close I really don't need to shave every day but I'm having no irritation so I do simply because I enjoy it so much. Maybe one pass shaves are the solution. Have a good one.
